“In January 2019 the Medical Commission charged physician Dane S. Travis (MD00033916) with unprofessional conduct and immediately suspended his credential.
Between 2010 and 2018, Travis repeatedly crossed professional boundaries and committed sexual misconduct.
The physician exchanged graphic and sexually explicit text messages and emails with a patient, told the patient sexual acts between an adult and children are acceptable in some cultures, met with the patient outside the clinic, kissed the patient in a grocery store, and touched the patient’s breast.
Travis discussed other patients’ treatment and conditions with the patient, told the patient he had avoided discipline after a previous sexual misconduct investigation, and invited the patient to join him on a trip to Hawaii.
Travis told a second patient her grandfather may have molested her out of love, and said it is normal in some cultures for older men to have relationships with younger women and girls.
Travis told that patient her husband was a lucky man, asked about her social life, invited her to an event, and said she was “hot” and he was “checking her out.””
