Dr. Britt Anderson, MD

Not Good Service

In general, Minor and James internists are okay and receive 3 1/2 to 4 stars in general. The doctor I am seeing currently is ideal for me and is 5-Stars. But she’s on leave for maternity.

The result was that I had to get my annual physical examination from a different doctor instead. The doctor is Britt Anderson.

I was just informed that I was expecting my first child. I spent most of my 1 hour with my doctor discussing my concerns and having my vitals checked by the nurse.

Anything that couldn’t be answered was questioned that needed to be put to the doctor upon her arrival.

Dr. Britt Anderson, MD, came in for my vitals, and when I explained my concerns with my asthma, she said, “Okay, I’ll prescribe you something.”

She asked, “Anything else?” She’s been present long enough to hear my heart and look into my throat and ear. That’s it.

It was a matter of two minutes, at the very least. It was when I was in the process of making my list of questions that she stepped off her stool and left.

I continued to describe how difficult my breathing had changed and how concerned I was as it seemed highly abnormal. I asked her what she suggested to do to manage it.

She replied, “I’ll figure it out and get you something.” She sat up and made an initial swivel of her stool, and I asked, “Wait, I’m not done.”

Dr. Britt Anderson sat back down. She asked me, “Will it interfere with my new pregnancy, and do you know what medication it will be?” She got up from the stool for the third time (within 30 to 45 seconds) and then looked over her shoulder when she said on her way out of the doors, “Oh, I’ll figure it out when I get in the hall.” Really? REALLY!

When I put the coat on and was ready to go, I stopped to ask their nurses, “Do you have my prescription(s) so that I may hand them to the pharmacy?” He replied, “You don’t have any.” I said, “That’s not what the doctor told me.”

He checked and gave me an address. He told me that “It’s already been faxed in.” (*Umm, I thought you declared that I didn’t have one?) Then, I said, “Well, do you know what it is?” That was it.

I did not know whether it was a tablet, nasal or oral inhaler, how to use it or what dosage/side effects, etc.

I was not sure what I was supposed to do to protect myself to my unborn child. This is certainly not an acceptable practice.

This was November 7th, 2011. My conversation and Dr. Britt Anderson lasted roughly 3-4 minutes.

As she left the room in such a short time (I hypothesize that she was able to see more people earn more insurance dollars), I didn’t have time to make the required referrals.

It took up to the end of last week (*2nd week of Jan 2012) to receive the necessary prescriptions and referrals to control my breathing issues and obtain the other Rxs I needed but was rushing to talk about.

Naturally, I learned what prescriptions were prescribed once I arrived at the pharmacy. There were also other prescriptions that I needed to go about with her. She was in a too fast rush to let me talk about, let alone listen to, and complete.

It took from the beginning of November until two weeks into January to obtain all prescribed prescriptions and referrals, which would have required a 1-hour appointment to get it all squared away.

When I’ve had physical examinations, I’ve spent most of the time, if not all of my time, with the physician I’ve chosen.

3-4 minutes of a doctor who moves around in her chair as if she wears ants on her pants is simply inconvenient. PERIOD.
