I am a patient of Dr. Andrew Ress, a plastic surgeon who made me believe that he was the best doctor before I agreed for the surgery. However, all his stories don’t fit the work that he did on my wrist.
I had a minor operation to be done on my wrist and as I knew that it would not take much time and money, I went to Dr. Andrew who surgery was a bit expensive. I did not know that I was paying to the worst doctor until I got to see my wrist after surgery.
On the third day, after surgery, my bandage was removed. I was scared to see the way it looked. It felt as if the skin was burnt and there were blisters all around the stiches. Something, I have never seen before. I asked the nurse and she said that it was usual, and it would feel fine within a week.
I was discharged that day and when I reached home, I found out that the site was bleeding. It happened for more than a week. Every week, I went for the followup as the condition was becoming worse. There was bleeding and some kind of fluid kept coming out of the site.
The problem was not only the blood, but the severe pain which was persistent since the day I was admitted. When I asked the doctor about it, he replied saying that he used to practice on dogs while he was in the medical school and they never complained after the surgery.
After several months of followups, I was exhausted. There was not a single day when dr. Andrew looked closely to the operated site. He used to check it across the desk and would say, it is still healing. I waited for many months and the surgery site got healed but there were many scars at the site which was unexplanatory.
There were some points close to the operated site that got numb and still I cannot feel anything at those areas. The last time when he saw me, he again looked at the site from a distance. Did not ask me about my mobility or pain or any other issues that I had escalated to him.
He simply said that I was ready to start my office. My hand was numb after the surgery and it was difficult to dress up with one hand. That was my problem and he said that I can start my normal life again. What kind of doctor does that?
He was only worried about the insurance bonus and payment for making me fit for the office. Later, when I did not find him concerned, I checked for another doctor. He was charging less as well but was really great at his work.
He took care of the things that dr. Andrew had destroyed. He also mentioned that the surgery was very small and it should not have taken this form. I will never recommend dr. Andrew to anyone.
