Design Within Reach

Design Within Reach The lack of personal responsibility

I purchased a high end Eames chair and ottoman. The chair was custom built and the ship date was April 9th. After 14 days, no update. No follow up from the salesperson.
One month later and multiple calls to the salesperson (she never initiated the contact), maybe the furniture will be delivered.
The lack of personal responsibility from the sales staff and company was very disappointing.
I now call the company”Design without Reach”

  1. I would not recommend buying at DWR ever.

Had a terrible experience with DWR in Washington DC. Twice, the furniture delivery was delayed by several weeks, then no delivery on a Saturday, meant had to stay home from work. When finally the table was delivered, the glass was completely broken. I would not recommend buying at DWR ever.

  2. When there is a problem I am a nuisance.

Horrible experience as a customer , I will not recommend the brand to my friends and acquaintances, I am great to pay. When there is a problem I am a nuisance.

  3. Never Again

(DWR overall review). Unfortunately, another longstanding customer lost due to awful and in my opinion, arrogant customer service. At this rate, with this attitude and lack of customer service, I predict that this company will be out of business in the next few years, unless something is done about the way they treat, and look after their customers, especially those that have had poor experiences with products purchased.

Therefore, BUYERS BEWARE! before you leap into purchasing what may appear to be lovely modern designs for your house and beyond. While their stuff may look cool and high quality heaven help you should you have trouble with anything you purchase from them – as I experienced firsthand.

  4. I bought the Nest Storage Bed from a sales person a few months ago.

I bought the Nest Storage Bed from a sales person a few months ago. After it was installed I realized there was a dip in my practically new mattress. I called Khanh and told her about the problem. She said it was most likely because I have a bed with springs and not made of foam.

Don’t you think that should be talked about before I spend $3500? The restocking fee is $700! So I suggested the her that DWR, if it had good customer service, which it SHOULD, pay for the plywood she suggested I put under the mattress and have it delivered to me. WIth that is has been nothing but radio silence.
