David Baxter

Worst experience

Worst experience ever with an insurance company. We have been with State Farm since 2002. Never once have we filed a claim. David Baxter and his account manager Janna are bullies and made us feel like criminals. On Saturday, June 16th, 2018 we had monsoon rain in our area and the roof started leaking in our house in multiple areas in from unknown places.

My wife and I were sitting in on the couch and a Deer mount fell off of the wall and almost hit my wife. Water was coming out of the hole from where it was mounted on the wall. We quickly checked room to room and found another leak in my in-laws room right over my father-in-laws bed.

My father in-law is paralyzed with a mechanical bed. It would have been dripping on him had he been in town.I called our agent David Baxter for help and instructions on what to do. Par for the course, he is never available. I spoke to Janna account manager, explained our situation and things went south from there on.

I wanted to file a claim for water damage. Believe it or not, she actually called me back and told me “she talked with a lady named Michelle, and advised they would not cover the claim and I should contact a lawyer or the contractor.”

Obviously, I was upset, who is Janna to tell me we can’t file a claim and they will not cover it? Surprise, guess who gets on the phone?? Mr. Baxter himself! Throughout the entire argumentative conversation on both parts, all I can remember is Mr. Baxter telling me “our rates are going to go up, our crediwill be negatively affected, and we may not be able to find home owners insurance if we file this claim”. He treated me like a bully and and criminal. Wow! It ended with him saying “were going back in forth, do you want to file a claim or not”. I did.

I immediately called State Farm and filed a complaint on Mr. Baxter, only to find out, they would review the complaint with their higher ups and Mr. baxter would either send me a letter or call me regarding the complaint?? Interesting!!!

On a better note, after the claim was processed, we received a call from a woman named Kori with State Farm and she advised Mr. Baxter had no authority to tell us they would not cover the claim nor did he have the authority to tell us we could lose our homeowners policy due to a claim. She was terrific.

This has been a horrible experience and regardless of what the adjuster determines, I will be spreading the word on how bad my wife and I were treated by Mr. Baxter and his associates. I pay insurance for this particular reason, not to be made to feel like a criminal!

Unfortunately, all it takes is one bad seed… This is my first and last experience with State Farm. They’re good when you don’t need them and bad when you do!!!

  1. Never actually got to use them.

Never actually got to use them. The first time I called them I gave them all my information and I thought I had a reservation for boarding my dogs, but when I called them back a few days before my trip to ask a question, they said they had no record of my reservation.

I scrambled and found another place. I decided to give them another chance a few months later, and I brought my two dogs in for a temperament test in advance of my planned trip. After waiting for a while, the young lady behind the counter brought my two dogs back into the kennel area, one at a time. In each case, they were back there less than five minutes and then she came out and said they failed the temperament test, because they had growled at other dogs.

  2. we will NEVER again use this facility.

We left our dog for boarding on a Wednesday afternoon, planning to gone until Monday. This is an 11 lb dog that never barks or has ever been in any sort of altercation with another animal.

On sunday we received a call from the kennel stating that our little dog had been attacked by a “medium sized dog”. He was taken to a vet, and then to an emergency Vet Clinic. They reported he was in shock, had close to 15 puncture wounds around his throat, ear, and shoulders. X-rays showed possible fractures of the left scapula (shoulder) and he wasn’t putting any weight on it.

  3. There is no place to sit and relax with free wifi and TV like their website says.

I went in to check out the indoor dog park and to my disappointment there is NO INDOOR DOG PARK for those wanting to go in and watch their dog. It is ONLY FOR THOSE WHO PAY FOR DOGGY DAY CAMP. There is no place to sit and relax with free wifi and TV like their website says.

When I asked the girl about the website she said it was the website programers fault and they’re trying to fix it. Well, why is there a sign on the front of their building advertising an indoor dog park as well? Complete false advertising on both their building and their website. Very frustrated and still looking for an indoor park around the area.
