Credit Acceptance

Customer Service

Credit Acceptance is the worst ratchet call center I have ever dealt with I don’t think the call center knows that the customers pay your salary #foodforthought.

I felt like I was in the twilight zone I have never been treated so disrespectfully ever The President of the company need to pull calls.

  1. RUN RUN A WAY

I took this company 24 hours to cost me 2 jobs, because of there error. I was advised since I was unemployed for the month of Oct 2023, I was placed on the payment plan of $20.00 every 2 weeks. I made those payment as agreed. Tuesday evening, my car was Repo’d. I called and was given the a lie reason, that my payment was late by 1day. Not my fault there system processed it late. Then I spoke to a supervisor and was told a different story. In total I spoke to 4 different Reps 2 of them managers, 4 different story’s. They wanted a total of $840.00 to obtain the car back. Now how am I suppose to do that when I lost both of my job in one day.

  2. Sorry, I had to choose one star, they do not deserve any!!

First and last time — worst company. I ended up paying more than one and a half times for my van. Rude customer service reps who literally tell you to beg, borrow or steal to make a payment. I was 30 days late and they reported it to the credit bureaus.

I have now paid them off (they would not even try to take the late – 30 days payment off – and it is wrecking my credit). It has been two months and I cannot see an updated title from DMV removing the lien. I was told previously that they would send the documents over to DMV informing that I paid off the vehicle.

Today I called after not seeing anything from DMV, and my insurance still listing Credit Acceptance as lien holder, and I was told I had to take the “contract pay-off/discharge of lien letter” to DMV myself. They do not know their jobs. The agent kept asking me for another number to add to their accounts.

It was a pleasure telling her that I am done with them and would never, ever give them another piece of information on me; I just wanted my title. They are the worst. Please use someone else to finance your vehicle. One 30-day late payment never had to be reported so quickly considering I was never late by 30 days before.

I appreciate the valuable lessons learnt from them though and would never make that same mistake twice.

  3. Please don't buy a car from them

Please don’t buy a car from them, they will call you 50 times a day if you are one day late, they are rude threatening, and very nasty on the phone, if you get one payment behind they use the kill switch to shut down your car no matter where you are,

I am very sorry I bought a car from them they are nasty people they want you to pay thorough a 3 party so you have to pay extra for them to take your payment,I will never buy another car through them, ever

  4. The worst company ever!

The worst company ever! You will pay for the auto and pay the company the same amount you paid for the car!!! BEWARE

  5. they basically said send me all this stuff and we'll still do nothing

My car was 1k away from being paid off. They repoed it without warning and tacked on another 1k in fees to get it back. Hiked up my monthly payment. That’s nothing, my mom’s diamond ring was forgotten in the middle of the console with my change, she just gifted it to me.

My car was taken in a 5-10 span of me getting out on realizing I forgot my ring that needed to be taken off well driving cause it was hurting. The tow company took my ring, damaged the crap outta my bumper that was just painted and broke my gas tank siphoning my almost full tank.

I called C.A. RIGHT AWAY to report my ring in the car and to please just let me come get my ring they can keep the car for said amount of days they required, they refused. They told me it would be covered if taken, now their telling me I need actual date stamped pictures of the ring sitting in my car right before it was towed? Who TF has that???

I need pictures of my bumper before the damage and of my gas tank prior to the damage??? Wtf!? This whole thing was a scam. They instantly sent by car to action to be sold (taken on Sat sent to action Mon but tow place closed on sun) they said if I didn’t pick it up that day they’d sold it and I’d owe the rest. Are you kidding me for being 30 days late?

I have a bank issued kill switch so they could of turned off my car but no they took it. Last year I was late by almost 2 months they never did crap. This place says their here for you to build your credit blah blah naw their scam artist! I use to sell them to customers when I worked for my dad’s lot now they stopped pushing them to customers because of this horrible ordeal.

C.A. told me for a week straight they’d take care of me and everything that happened, they lied. They want time stamped pictures of everything. How about my time stamped calls! Telling you b4 hand!!!! Now the complaints department is handling it, theybasically said send me all this stuff and we’ll still do nothing

  6. Bad Service

I’m a single mom to 4 special needs kids, one who is a frequent flyer to the hospital. Over this past summer everything that could go wrong has. Torque converter, faulty seat bench anchors, brakes snapped off while driving, pvc joint, wheel bearing/hub, misfiring cylinders, found a hodgepodge of mismatched wires and spark plugs, major oil leak, coolant leak, power steering leak, break leak, head gasket leak, exhaust leak, fuel leak, no heat, etc.

The value of this van isn’t even worth an oil change and it’s a death trap. I’ve been cut by the rusted broken doors, the sliding doors have opened while driving despite being locked, rain and snow get inside the vehicle and get my kids wet.

I decided enough was enough and I needed to get a new car. Of course this one can’t be traded in, even if the loan was paid off. Dealers have told me they can’t believe I was ever sold this vehicle to begin with or that Credit Acceptance backed it with such a high loan.

I’ve been told I’ve gotten approvals for a new loan but the balance on the death trap needs to be paid off first. I’ve called a few times to try and find out if we can work out a pay off balance that isn’t the exact loan amount given the scamming going on here.

  7. A few weeks later my nightmare began.

Honestly, 1 Star is way too much! I purchased a vehicle in June of and was excited to find out I had been approved for a loan through Credit Acceptance and was able to purchase a warranty with it. A few weeks later my nightmare began.

Things were going wrong on the vehicle and when I brought it to the mechanics they told me that the warranty was a sham, because they never get paid for their work. I took it to several more mechanics who all told me the same thing. I called to complain and would either get no response or them just telling me my warranty number again!

Thus began my journey of paying for multiple, expensive repairs on an upside down loan. I found out that truthfully my vehicle was only worth $1,500 at best. My loan was for a little over $5,000! As the issues became worse I kept calling credit acceptance and was told by a rep they would work with me on halting a month’s worth of payments due to the repair costs.

Then I found out that wasn’t the truth and suddenly I was behind on payments. I then called to make a payment arrangement. The rep asked me for $164 to secure it. I did so over the phone immediately. 2 days later another rep called to tell me that that rep wasn’t authorized to do that and that that was too small of an amount and they wiped out my arrangement! I was then told if I paid another $25 it would be reinstated.

So I did. 2 weeks later I found out that wasn’t the case at all! At this point I began to feel scammed and I got different reasones from each person I spoke to, most of which were rude. As time passed everything in the vehicle was falling apart and I was having a hard time keeping up with just paying for all these expensive repairs but I had to because I needed a vehicle.

  10. Run fast!!!! Theses people are preying on people in need of a loan.

Run fast!!!! Theses people are preying on people in need of a loan. If you don’t have the credit to be approved at a legit lending company then WAIT until you do. I cannot stress enough that this company will put you In bigger issues and cause more stress than you have now.

They will repo your car if you are one month behind then give you unclear manipulative information on what’s needed to redeem the vehicle, then once you pay whatever they say, you will need to pay an extra balance to get the car out. It’s a sleezy sleezy company!

The reps are rude and try to be condescending. They have no experience with customer service and play on your needs to get away with being nasty and condescending. I was unable to get in touch with anyone in a higher position than the guy Jarrett who could care less about the the customers and don’t want to be there so he takes his anger out on customers by being an a**.

  13. Scammer

This is the worse financial institution ever! Stay far away from these people. I purchased a car from a dealer ship that was 9,000.00 I put 3,500.00 down which left 5,500.00 dollars give or take. This is in June of 2017. I looked to see how much longer I had to pay for my car and it showed that I had a balance of 11,000.00 WTH!

and I would be done paying until the year 2021! I called and they said it only showed that I put 1500.00 down which is a lie! but even at that how do I owe 11,000.00 for a car that was 9,000.00. I asked for the paperwork and never received anything other than some payments on a paper with no letter head. I was told that they will garnish my wages and do whatever needs to be done to get their money but they still cant tell me how I owe 11,000.00 and I’ve paid on this car for 2 1/2 years! someone has to do something this is ridiculous and they can have the dam car back. It’s a !
