Chinese Hospital

Bad Experience

This review is based on my mother’s bad experience at Chinese Hospital. She was in the ER waiting for my dad.

She said the nurse/ receptionist was the only one that offered her juice or crackers since she knew that my mom’s been waiting around for hours while he had multiple testing.

The real reason why I’m so livid is the FRONT DESK service. My mom had he’s name on a paper and he sent her to ICU.

Then that was the wrong dept. Then she went back to front desk and he told her to go to basement 2. Well basement 2 is radiology.

Then she realizes she’s in the wrong area. Then she goes back to front desk and he blows her off.

My mom asked what he’s name was. Be alert for rudeness from – Alex.

My mom eventually found the emergency dept. The floors in the ER had stains and marks all around the room.

The bathroom smelled like urine and had all kinds of dark markings. For a new hospital it’s not being up keep.

  1. I am now proud of have a hospital in Chinatown that can be comparable to Kaiser or General hospital.

My dad had a congestive failure and had to be admitted immediately to this hospital. The people at the registration desk were a bit grumpy. But when my dad was wheeled into the intensive care unit, the nurses there were great and caring.

I especially remember the nurse named Donna Li who was our assigned nurse. She was absolutely wonderful and patient with my dad and us the family. She was very professional and knew what she was talking about. Her staff was great also. Chinese hospital has definitely stepped up in their game these days.

Not only is the facility more clean and new, but the staff were more friendly and professional. I remembered years ago i went to Chinese hospital for a colonscopspy, I walked in and decided to not go thru with it because the staff was so imcompetent and the equipments were so old and outdated. But about 5yrs later now, everything there has improved. I am now proud of have a hospital in Chinatown that can be comparable to Kaiser or General hospital.

  2. Never Again

As a CCHP Senior Plan holder, they do care about their seniors, the best they can. They need more funding, bigger and better hospital to serve the community/patients.

All requests are taken in consideration with all they can meet in “competition” or of humanly as with other san francisco hospitals and patients needs.

  3. I took my dad to this hospital this morning due to his back pain

I took my dad to this hospital this morning due to his back pain!!! The lady who works in the emergency room was EXTREMELY RUDE!!! Her talking VOICE level is the same as yelling. She kept asking/yelling us what we need. I kept telling her my dad has a lot of pain.

WE NEED SOME KIND OF TREATMENT. She has no clues about her job. I respect the job that you do and expect you to respect us in return. Please act like a nurse if you are one! Or at least be a normal kind nurse! Patients need YOU when they are there because they are sick and in pain.

  4. Scammer

    Don’t go here.

  5. Sadly, rudeness has been the reputation for Chinese Hospital for years....

Finally I can post what bothered me for years. My mother was rushed to ER and diagnosed with a large brain tumor in. Devastated with the news, my dad and I sat in the hospital room as two older attendants came to bed down my mother.

As they were arranging the bed sheets, one woman remarked in Cantonese: “Look at her. Can’t even move her.” Then she called my mother “Sei Foa” which mean’t “Dead Thing!”

They must have assumed that we did not understand Cantonese. Seething with anger I shouted at them to leave my mother. “Solly solly” was her response as she waved her hand in the air. It was just incredible finding out that your mother had terminal cancer and having these rude and shocking remarks made literally in front of your face.

A year after my mother died, I wrote to the hospital administrator to complain about the incident. She never replied. Sadly, rudeness has been the reputation for Chinese Hospital for years….
