These People Are The Lowest Of Low

I have been dealing with CBH Homes for years, and not in a good way.

These people are the lowest of low. They make crap homes that are rushed and poor quality.

Their office staff is rude and dismissive when you call with concerns.

Their construction teams are disrespectful, careless, loud, and a disaster.

I’ve never been so frustrated in my entire life!!

There is construction garbage all over my neighborhood, next to their new builds.

One of my neighbors saw a truck driving through our neighborhood with garbage flying out the back all over our street.

l’ve called their offices and they didn’t even know which subdivision I was talking about because they’ve so far overstretched their company.

I have been into the tire shop twice in the last month from metal pieces and nails in my tires that they throw around and track through our subdivision, as have several of my neighbors.

If my tire gets 1 more hole, I have to get a new tire. We’ve repeatedly asked them not to use our subdivision as a construction entrance due to their carelessness, but they refuse.

Their contractors drive like maniacs through our subdivision with lots of children who have almost been hit multiple times.

We live next to an elementary school and their workers park on the sidewalk, and leave garbage everywhere, making the kids walk in the street during the heaviest traffic times. I am so fed up.

When they build houses their studs are unevenly spaced, wiring is screwed up, our shower wasn’t properly plumbed and leaked through the closet and floor, none of our windows are straight, they build up the dirt before they build so everything sinks and all the concrete cracks.

Plus every house on my street has bad siding, and CBH won’t do a single thing about it.

My list is never ending because this company is such a train wreck.

And if you are thinking of buying a home in the city of Meridian with any space around you, JUST DON’T, because this city council is determined to fill in every single “empty” space and apparently Corey Barton is their best friend.

The space behind us was 5 acres and they are putting in 23 houses.

They will come in and this will be your story too.

    We will never trust CBH homes again. Their sales team purposely withheld information from us until after close to induce us to close because market value had dropped significantly. Intentional omission of information that would materially impact the value of a home to a buyer is also known as FRAUD!

    We signed a contract to purchase a new home in June 2022. At that time, I told the sales agent that I work from home for an out of state company and rely on high quality, high speed internet to do my job if I’m going to live here.

    As we got closer to close (mid-July 2022), CBH had dropped the prices in our new neighborhood by around $45k and increased incentives by $10k. A few days before close, I reached out to broadband providers to schedule internet setup. They could not find the address. We went to our new homeowner’s orientation the day before closing. I explained to the Super that we’d called broadband providers and they couldn’t find the address. He squirmed a bit and then said that it sometimes happens with new construction but that the house was ready to go with internet. “Just call them after close. They will have you unplug this thing here in the garage and plug it back in and you’ll be all set.”

    We didn’t feel super comfortable with that answer, so I reached out to the sales team and asked them directly about it. For a sales team that had responded to every other email I had previously sent in a matter of 2 business hours, I was a little surprised that I got no response. I tried calling, no answer. I needed good internet at the house to keep my job. The sales team knew this as I’d told them on multiple occasions.

    We went to close relying on what the Super had told us at our NHO. Imagine my surprise when just 40 MINUTES after our purchase had funded and recorded, we receive an email from the CBH sales team informing us of internet issues in the community – that there was no broadband available and they didn’t know when it would be available (As of February 2023, still no broadband available). They sent a list of mobile and satellite providers “that might work for you”. Upon investigation, half the list did not even service the address and the other half had data caps. I ended up getting an unlimited data plan on my phone with a 50GB cap on 5G (their highest plan). I burned through the data cap in the first 8-12 days of the month and then got throttled.

    I almost lost my job because I would disconnect from so many meetings. Time and time again, I had to make other arrangements or go other places to have enough internet access. When I asked CBH what they were going to do about it and I expressed my frustration over them lying to me by withholding information before close, they simply said, “Telecommunication services are always an arrangement between the homeowner and the service provider, and CBH nor the Development companies have control over the telecommunications installation. We’ll take this feedback back to the team and work on better ways to handle this situation in the future.”

    Finally, by December 2022, we and some of the neighbors had convinced Verizon to service the area with their 5G home internet. However, the damage was done, and it was too little, too late. I felt I had to move back to where my company is headquartered in order to keep a job at that point. We sold the house at a HUGE loss – a house we would never have been in if CBH’s sales team had been forthcoming and honest with the truth. They knew there was an issue, and they knew that if we had known about the issue we would have walked away, and the market had dropped $55k on that house compared to what they had us under contract to pay. I’m a CPA. I know what fraud is. I’ve helped put people in jail who I’ve caught committing fraud. What CBH did constitutes fraud. STAY AWAY!!!

  2. Very accurate reports CBH is definitely the worst builder in Idaho

    Do not buy into a CBH home, cheapest materials, cheapest trades, inexperienced management, treat homeowners like second rate customers.
    Homes like like they been through a tornado after a few years, that’s because siding streamers to fall off, foundations begin to sink, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

    My neighbor has breathing issues and they won’t work with him. Like him i have several cracks in my foundation under my home. My CBH home has water now in crawl space i hear its from clay under the ground here. I Know of 3 other homes with water under them. I have seen it for myself and i am sickened by it. I wish i had never bought here” Nails coming out of my home and other nails not sealed properly. Floors moving furniture unstable and my countertop moves A LOT TOO MUCH!!!! paint issues inside and out and now its cracking where my windowsills are connected to my home. Speaking of home i walked around and lost count how much paint is missing inside my home and out. I went under my home and found these 2 last night. Now another topic i asked the HOA Boardwalk Management if i could have a few things and was no all when i first moved in here. Andrew one of our neighbors was allowed to have a trailer in here and several poured cement and do other things. I am Hispanic and i know other Hispanic families who were also told no. In a time of Black lives matter we think this abuse is totally uncalled for. We read the HOA rules before we moved in and they forbid and boats motorhomes or trailers in here and they changed the rules for Andrew but no one else makes you think. My home is falling a part and so are others thank god my neighbor kept pushing me to check or i would have never found out. Next week my family is sitting down with someone to see how to pursue this i have time to wait on my warranty claim but as my neighbor searches we find that my family and others homes may not have been inspected to code. That maybe people are turning a blind eye to things. My neighbor is smart and he found out a ton of things. He went to the doctor after he was exposed to over 13 days of mold, yeast, bacteria, and fiberglass particles being exposed to the air by CTR Restoration a company CBH hired. He told me when the doctor asked him who did this to you and he told her she commented ” so they are doing their old stuff again huh”
    People look down upon him because he is loud and more of a in your face kind of man but i am grateful. He helped me recognize the kind of home i have and if it wasn’t for him i would have had no clue. Its gone this far because Cory Barton wont do anything. You call Jamie and she never calls you back.     From first look to move-in it took us less than 1 month! Great company to purchase from. Straight forward no BS you know what you’re getting. Like I said, couldn’t be happier.

  8. I am very satisfied and pleased with the quality of my home and the customer service I received.

    We just closed on our home at the end of April and couldn’t be happier. CBH made the process so easy. Not one question I had, went unanswered. The staff we worked with were very pleasant, accommodating and responsive.

    We dealt with Ami Martin from the South Canyon Sales Center and I have to say, she is very caring and always went out of her way to help us. Even after our house closed, she continues to stay in contact with us. Overall, I am very satisfied and pleased with the quality of my home and the customer service I received.
