I was startled to know that I was working for the employment lawyers at Carlin and Buchsbaum Law Firm who themselves are not aware of the employment laws. What an irony? The firm which is supposed to help people who have been wrongfully terminated and other unlawful employment issues, did the same to their employee.
I joined carlin and Buchsbaum and after less than 5 weeks, they terminated my employment without a prior notice or a reasonable cause. It hurts to say, but it’s true. I switched my company and joined Carlin & Buchsbaum for better prospects. I thought to learn more as they have a remarkable reputation. However, my dreams were left as dreams.
Their harassment did not end there. After they terminated me, Gary Carlin filed a fraudulent claim with the State of California’s EDD Department of Unemployment. He made fake reports, incorrect statements. All this he did to block my unemployment compensation.
This is injustice but what can I expect from someone who himself is unaware of the right laws. He is far away from the laws concerning the EDD Department’s practice of employee reporting. When I got employed with Carlin & Buchsbaum, they sent the department a notice which was reagrding a claim that I made before I joined them.
Gary Carlin accused me of annoying him and claiming my unemployment while working with his firm. However, the EDD explained to me that I need not worry. It was their normal procedure to send a notice to every NEW employer. They do this to verify that the employees are in fact employed by the company.
They further added that based on their confirmation, they will close the claim. I feel sorry for Gary Carlin that he is so blind folded that he could not see what wrong he is been doing to others. He is not the right person to seek help with and even a worse employer.
I am sure, they do not have any mercy or empathy which forms the backbone of any attorney. If you cannot feel the pain of your clients, how would you fight for them.
I have worked with many small and big firms and in my 30 years of career, this was the first time I have witnessed something so cruel and malicious.
To “have it their way” they can stoop to any such savagery and will not stay back in lying around. Carlin & Buchsbaum’s actions were the mirror of their character and work culture. They are unethical and they tried to misdirect the State of California’s EDD Department without any hesitation.
I am not able to understand how they have maintained to be in business or maybe I should say their shrewdness in fraud has helped them stay where they are.
I only wish that they soon understand the consequences and get what they truly deserve. Attorneys of employment laws, if cannot obey them, should be banned from providing any kind of consultation to its clients.
