Capital One Bank

No one can help me at their customer service desk

Opening up this card was very easy, stress free and to start using it was amazing. I do not need a credit card, I simply opened this card up due to close friends recommendations. Friends that make money and whom I trust their opinions.

Long story short. I opened this card up simply to start building my credit and I regret I ever did. I could have paid the entire thing in one shot but was instructed that does nothing for building a credit score.

So I had to make monthly payments, According to one of their representatives today I was charge a late fee 3 times. Which is fine, I understand more than anyone that if I am late there is a fee to be paid. Just to give you an example of the scam going on here are some numbers.

I have 3 late fees and interest to be paid: $25, $35 and $25 total of $85.00. My credit card had a limit of $500.00. I have paid $445. Now with the late fees and interest I incurred that would make my balance of $445 paid -late fees of $85 = $360 paid on my $500 account.

So, on a $500 account – $360.00 payments (amount after late fees and interest rates) that would mean I have a balance of $140.00 to be paid. No, not according to capital 1. According to them I owe them $524.97 and yes, they have received all of my payments. No one can help me at their customer service desk. So, legal action? I do NOT recommend them!

  1. Let's start a boycott against credit card companies!

Like many people, I was in a lot of debt with credit cards. By the grace of God, I have paid off these credit cards. I often wonder what’s the difference between organized crime and credit card companies and insurance companies. I believe they all practice usury and wrongfully, charge high interest rates and fees. They make it extremely hard to get out of debt once you are in debt. I was paying almost 75% in interest. Very little actually went towards the principal balance. These companies are filthy rich. I believe they make their money off of usury and high interest rates and fees. If the government don’t step in do an overhaul of these evil practices against consumers, we as consumers need to boycott them and stop giving these crooks our business. I understand that some of us need financial help from time to time and credit cards have proven to be useful, but at the same time, they can be a trap if you can’t pay them off right away. No matter how deceiving these companies may be, at the end of the day, I am to blame for choosing to use them. I do take responsibility for my choice in using credit cards. If I don’t have the money to buy something, nowadays, I will go without. I’m done with credit card companies. Once I’m completely out of debt, I will make better decisions. I have cancelled my credit card with capital one. We as consumers are to blame for empowering and making these greedy and selfish people rich. Without us, they have no power to make money. They can’t make money if we don’t use their credit cards. We need to avoid them at all cause. Let’s boycott capital one and the rest of these credit card companies. The things we buy with credit cards aren’t worth the usury and high interest and fees these credit card companies are charging us. Let’s join forces and boycott them. For those who are still in debt, make your payments and don’t use the credit cards anymore. These debts won’t last forever. I strongly advocate against doing business with creditors who practice usury and charge high interest rates and fees. It’s an evil practice. May the very monetary foundation that these businesses thrive on collapse and may their financial success come to an ultimate ruin, without remedy. And may they reap any wrongs they have sown to their customers.

  2. Horrible, STAY AWAY from Cap One

STAY AWAY FROM CAPITOL ONE. What a joke of a company. I have had a credit card with them for several years, hardly ever used the card because the interest rates were so much higher than anyone elses. Well this year (2019) they suddenly decided to charge me a service fee of $19.00 (yeah, for servicing my unused account). They never notified me of this charge, not by email, or paper mail, or by phone. It wasn’t until Experian sent me a notice that my account was 30 days delinquent with Capitol One and my credit score dropped 71 points, from 745 to 674. I immediately paid the 19.00 but Capitol One refused to remove the late payment report. 15 years with credit cards frome every major bank and never had a late or missed payment with anyone ever. Capitol One f–ks my credit score over a $19.00 service fee, NOT something I went out and purchased and never paid for. Now I am on a mission to let everyone know on every website possible to stay away from Capitol One. They will rip you off, screw you over, it’s just a matter of time……..count on it.

  3. scammed me for 150

Had a hit and run on my vehicle insurance paid for a rental but I had to leave a 150 deposit took the rental back they released the 150 it showed as released on my account with capital 1 next day the 150 dissapeared out of my account they say oh that’s your balance yet it is shy 150 there a bunch of dirtbags I could barely understand the lady who argued with me pretty much calling me an idiot

  4. Worst customer service. Zero consumer protection

Filed a credit card dispute after merchant sent me a defective item. Received zero protection and capital one failed to refund the charge

    1. That’s not how it works. If the merchant sends you a defective item, it’s their job to refund you, not Capital One’s. I can’t believe you actually had an argument with some poor customer service rep about this. Yikes. Think about how much money they would lose if they just went around refunding dumb people who don’t understand how things work.
