Canvas Credit Union – Littlet...

So Rude

Unfortunately Canvas Credit Union – Littleton Branch is going downhill thanks to their new Assistant Branch Manager Tyler Davin.

I had an issue with my debit card not working and went into the branch to find out why my card was not working.

Tyler the assistant branch manger looked up my account and said someone at the branch had turned it off and they wouldn’t be able to do anything without talking to the person that put a hold on my account.

I had gone in on a Saturday and he said to come back during the week.

When I returned on a weekday I again spoke with Tyler and he said the person I need to talk to isn’t actually in that location and they didn’t have a way for the person that put a hold on my account to contact me.

I asked how can that be? I took off work to come in here like you said and talk to the person that put a hold on my account and he was reluctant to help.

He suggested taking all my money out and going elsewhere.

All I wanted was some resolution and a way to use my account without having to take off work to go into the branch every time I need money. I need to be able to use my account to pay bills and buy plane tickets.

I felt like he was treating me like a criminal rather than a customer.

I haven’t cried in 3 years since my husband died and Tyler’s mannerisms and lack of concern for my time being of value caused me to become emotional and cry.

I just can’t believe he could be so rude.

  1. We are grateful for his hep and for those working with him.

Jim Powers is the hands on Branch Manager who supports his staff and is generous with his time and assistance to members. Jim is knowledgeable and his sincerity is reassuring to those of us who are dependent on the judgment and veracity of our banking professionals.

He helped us to feel comfortable in this setting. Jim answered our questions thoroughly, with care and in lay terms. He treated our concerns with respect and understanding. He helped us understand the various options we had by defining terms and by listening before responding. He is a fine communicator who treats the least informed of us with the courtesy others reserve only for the most important customers.

That is how he made us feel. We felt fortunate that we had the opportunity to work with him. It was clear to us, that the culture of the entire branch reflects Jim’s inclusiveness, his respect for and appreciation of his members. We are grateful for his hep and for those working with him.

  2. I still go to this credit union to use the shared-branching services

I like that this credit union takes the shared branching principle seriously. I liked the friendly service so much that I opened an account here.

Only after opening it and having ongoing issues with ATM access on my new account did I discover that the ATM car for which I paid an annual fee was only linked to my savings (share) account and not able to be set up for access to my checking account.

Since the savings (share) accounts are limited by law to only 6 transactions per month, and four of those were going to be weekly deposits, the whole house of cards crumbled and I closed my accounts.

Since ATM-only (NOT Visa/credit-linked) cards are far safer than the Visa-Debit type cards, I have to wonder why the credit union discourages people from having and using them.

Credit unions are supposedly all about the members. WHY would they not want their members to have safer cards, especially when the members are willing to pay the fee for them?

  3. Scammer

I had a PSCU account since the 70’s. I recently received a statement from them and $2.50 was deducted from my account due to an address change requested by a third party. I went to this branch on Thursday, asking who requested it and why PSCU was charging me. I was told “the postal service asked the address be changed and it was policy to charge for these types of updates. Hmmm, Westerra did not charge my wife for the same process. I asked that the charge be reversed. The Teller had to get permission from her Branch Manager (loosely termed here) a James C. Powers.
