Aurora Health Care

The Billing Office Manager

I broke down the review into sections so that you could skim it easily.

The good: Aurora Health Care have an online portal to pay your bill.

You can check here to see if your insurance payment was posted and how much you owe.

The clinicians were helpful and I was seen in timely manner.

The OK
The billing department manager and customer service folks are nice people and will help you if you need to be put on a payment plan, need to change your address or coverage, or want to pay your bill.

The urgent care department is open for part of the weekend.

The bad:

No customer service folks could figure out why my claim was marked with the wrong location code. The location code affects how much people owe.

They are months behind in posting insurance payments.

You will receive bills in the mail for months asking for you to pay the total charges even though they have your insurance provider’s check.

They will send you to bad debt if they don’t post your insurance payment in time.

Their workaround for this is to ask you to call in each month to let them know that you’re still waiting for them to post your payment.

After six statements, which they send once a month, they will send you to bad debt.

The usual wait time to speak to someone in the billing office is between 7-21 minutes, their hours are only M-F: 8:30am-5pm.

They won’t be able to call you back if they need to research something.

They will suggest that they will go look up the information and then you call them back in a couple days.

The billing office manager that I spoke to was baffled by the problem I was facing and was not a very good listener.

  1. Wrongful billing

How does a healthcare provider get away with adding extra stuff to a bill that wasn’t even apart of anything that happened. Mostly doing it to the elderly and getting away with it. Isn’t there an audit that is suppose to keep them in check? So there can’t be fraudulent billing. Talked to someone who was in the billing department and called them out on it. Then within a month was let go. Isn’t that what the BBB is suppose to be on top of? Fraudulent businesses. Don’t trust them.

  2. Scammer

  3. Made an appoint so I could wait almost an hour!!

Made an appoint so I could wait almost an hour!! Not happy seeing I have to take off of work and make up my time. If they were that far behind they could have the courtesy to call to let you know when to come or reschedule.

  4. Be very careful.

Went to this hospital for surgery. Be very careful. Surgeon was great. The anesthesia doctor did not listen to the reasons for NOT to use a fistula arm for IV. This caused an infection in the arm.

Required 3 and a half days in St. Luke’s hospital. Registered a complaint, of course they found no error. Sent registered letter to President of the hospital and of course NO response. Fortunate for us this did not effect his “kidney that was Transplanted”.

  5. No customer service
