Augusta Financial

Very Poor Service And Intelligence

Augusta Financial-what a joke !! don’t use them! 24018 Lyons Ave, Newhall, CA 91321 Phone – 661-260-2970 Fax – 661-260-2979

Just used this co. To close a home mortgage loan, what a nightmare to say the least, they approved the loan within same day, yet at closing they were still asking for pay stubs from 2013 and 2014 to show OT Income to qualify, even though autos and student loans where paid off and the OT income was not required and job history was over 10yrs at same job.

Not to mention the number times the same items where repeatedly sent for review by the u/w … Mike Meena/Chelsea Rollins was absolutely no help at all, the entire staff that worked on the loan was a complete joke, my family would never recommend this place as a lender to anyone.

Very poor service and intelligence.

  1. Not only that, but he is truly full service

My husband and I recently bought our first home, and we could not have done it without Sean Treloggen at Augusta Financial. Sean is incredibly knowledgeable, but more importantly, he took the time to guide us through the process and answer any questions we had (which were many). He was invested in helping us get the best loan, at the best rate, with the best conditions, and he worked tirelessly to achieve that.

My husband and I would email Sean at all hours of the day, and he would respond promptly, even at night and on the weekends! We would give him a call (or he would offer to call us) whenever more intricate explanations were in order. It was clear to us that he was immensely committed to his work and to his clients.

I also feel he is responsible and ethical when it comes to making sure that you do not take on more than you can chew. We feel extremely comfortable with our loan, and he always provided spreadsheets and options to help us make the most informed decisions.

Not only that, but he is truly full service, even gathering insurance quotes for us and making the escrow process incredibly seamless for our loan contingency. We always dealt directly with Sean rather than any assistants or other personnel. Thank you, Sean, for all of your efforts and attention! We truly appreciate it!

  2. Unfortunately my experience was not the best

Unfortunately my experience was not the best, I probably should have handled my problem on a more direct way and it probably would have been handled a lot sooner. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I still received no response.

Finally after the BBB closed the case I received a call from Augusta Financial and they did agree to there mistake and sent me a check for the correct amount. They didn’t respond to the complaint because they never received the complaint from the BBB. It was not sent to the correct individual, they were only aware of the problem when they discovered the complaint on the BBB site.

I don’t want to mention the broker’s name because my intention is not to discredit his reputation for a one time incident, but to have Augusta Financial stand behind their reputation. I am very happy that Augusta Financial made the effort to resolve the situation and keep their reputaion strong.

  3. My recommendation... there must be someone better to get a loan from!

Whoa, run don’t walk away from this gang. At the last minute in my escrow this company pulled a bait and switch, it was either go along with their changes or cancel escrow and risk losing even more money! I thought that was very unethical.

When I mentioned this to my real estate agent my agent’s agent friends said “he got you too” referring to the owner of this company. My recommendation… there must be someone better to get a loan from!

  4. To make matters Mike verbally attacked my wife and I in the title companies office.

To make matters Mike verbally attacked my wife and I in the title companies office. Mike said that he didn’t care that the entire title companies office heard him screaming at his customers, and that he doesn’t care if he receives any referrals from my wife and I. My family feels like we were taken advantage of and that once he knew that he had the deal secure that he felt he could treat us in any manor he wanted.

I have never been treated so badly by a company such as Augusta financial. My wife and I are supposed to be excited about moving into our dream home (after saving up for so long to be able to purchase our first home together), but now the entire experience has been stained by Mike taking advantage of us and treating us so badly.

We are stuck with a higher rate, he didn’t honor our arrangement to match Wells Fargo’s deal, and Augusta was late on the mortgage by over a week (which is the reason we were told to use Augusta to begin with). I would recommend going directly to a major bank such as Chase, Bank of America, or Wells Fargo because they value their customers and have more control and flexibility over their loan products.

Mike made it known to my wife and I that he does 1000’s of loans and he didn’t need ours (after we had no option but to use Augusta 3 days before closing). The title company after hearing how Mike yelled and treated us so badly couldn’t believe that the owner of such a large company would behave so terribly.

  5. Never Again

Words cannot express how horrible the mortgage process and experience has been with Mike Meena and Augusta financial. To begin my wife and I decided to give our business to Wells Fargo who provided a much better deal than any lender in Santa Clarita, but we were strongly encouraged to use Augusta financial because the Realtor had a relationship with Augusta, and they would be able to close the loan on a specific date.

My wife and I, moved our business to Augusta on the condition that Augusta match the same deal that we received from Wells Fargo based on the HUD-1 and good faith document. Mike gave us his word that he would match the agreement. Our deal with Wells Fargo was that we were paying no closing cost out of pocket and to receive $1500 back, well we received our final closing documents and we are paying $1500 out of pocket.

The rates dropped by a half a point and Mike waited until 3 days before closing to inform us that there was nothing he could do with out jeopardizing the scheduled closing date. The title company said that it seemed like, “we were getting bullied into signing the closing documents”.
