AmeriFirst Financial

Very Disappointed

We shopped for lenders on our first home purchase from 4 different sources.

I was recommended to AmeriFirst Financial by a friend and was very disappointed, unfortunately.

Looking back on our experiences with each lender, AmeriFirst was by far the pushiest and most intimidating.

Ignoring the bottles of liquor in folks’ offices, AmeriFirst did have a professional appearance.

My wife and I had a meeting with our recommended contact and his manager, however our 1 hour scheduled meeting went on for almost 2 because we continually refused to do what they asked.

They felt that filling out all of the tax information and submitting it would have been a head start.

I’d agree except that we didn’t even like their offerings and had already seen better from other lenders.

After they confirmed several times that they couldn’t offer any better, I was prepared to leave and move forward elsewhere.

AmeriFirst refused to take no for an answer and continued to try and and convince me that signing the paperwork was our best option right now.

If you don’t have the best product offering and the potential customer has explained that to you, take the high road and say “sorry we couldn’t do better.” A 30-year, conventional loan is not a difficult thing to sell.

  1. Sold My Mortgage to a Collection Agency after I Never Missed a Payment

I obtained a mortgage from AmeriFirst Financial in 2008. Made payments on a regular monthly basis and never missed a single payment. Suddenly I find that they have sold my mortgage to a collection agency! You can imagine what this has done to my credit rating. How is it even legal to do this to someone who is not in default and remained current on every single payment?

I have since learned that AmeriFirst is going bankrupt and won approval to sell off their loans. Are they legally allowed to sell off loans to collection agencies when those loans are not and have never been in default?

If this dirtbag company ever does get back on its feet, I hope that anyone in need of a loan or mortgage stays far away from them.
