Alia Marie Hazen – Scout Real...

What A Huge Disappointment

We were recommended Alia by our Umpqua mortgage broker. We haven’t chosen an agent yet so figured sure, why not.

We met with her to discuss our needs and she seemed very attentive and we were very hopeful.

She created a tour of several houses for us to view. We were surprised when we showed up to Start the tour and it was her assistant doing the tour, I guess this is pretty common these days.

Her assistant is very sweet, but, we didn’t hire her assistant.Turns our her assistant does all her showings.

The places her assistant showed us (and no doubt picked out…,) were along the lines of what we liked.

We found a place to make an offer on, and visited it again, so our agent could see it too…….. We agreed upon a fair offer price, but when it came down to negotiations Alia backed down the first day making arguements for the seller why we should offer more, u hmmm…. I need more backbone than that.

Well, we continued the house hunt using Redfin because it felt like we needed to make a VIP appointment in order to view all the houses we wanted to.

We found a place that we absolutely LOVED, I mean…… That crown jewel of a unicorn of a dream home… The right neighborhood, right price, everything!

So we called Alia…… Wanting to remain faithful to her. Her assistant met us that next morning and we feel in love with the place.

We wanted to do everything we could to get the place but all we got from Alia regarding strategy and negotiating was 5 minutes on the phone!

She didn’t discuss options, all she would say is “offer highest and best! Highest and Best!!”

Ugh…. So annoying, so we offered $30k above asking. Literally she only communicated via text, and each text was about half an hour apart. Infuriating!

Did we get the house? No, of course not, Were we outbid? No! So why didn’t we get the house? Because the buyers agent NEGOTIATED with the seller on terms of sale, but my agent didn’t do any of that.

What a huge disappointment.

  1. Our experience with Alia and Erin was beyond anything we could have imagined.

Our experience with Alia and Erin was beyond anything we could have imagined. My girlfriend and I were first time home buyers, needless to say we were very anxious at the onset of the process of how the whole thing would pan out.

Just meeting Alia and talking with her put us to ease about everything; we knew we were in great hands – she even called what neighborhood we would end up in within 30 minutes of our initial meeting!

From helping us with our lender, to the offer and the contract, the appraisal to the renegotiation, and everything in between, Alia was steps ahead of the game and kept us worry free and confident. She taught us a considerable amount throughout the process as well.

  2. I would recommend Alia and her team without hesitation!!

A coworker recommended Alia when I decided I was ready to start the process of purchasing my first home and I am so happy i took her recommendation. Alia is amazing! Her experience shows through and through and she understood my needs and wants right off the bat.

She seemed to immediately be tuned into whether or not I was feeling a place. During the purchasing process we ran into a hiccup with the appraisal and she was wonderful at talking me through it and helping to keep my stress level down.

She is also great at responding promptly to all forms of communication. She was involved every step of the way and helped me (a nervous first time homebuyer) understand the process. I just closed last week and can’t wait to get settled in my perfect new home! I would recommend Alia and her team without hesitation!!

  3. She's simply the best!

We’ve worked with Alia twice now–initially buying our house and then selling it again eight years later. We trust her completely and she has always worked above and beyond our expectations each time. That’s why we always recommend her services to everyone else too.

In our first experience the home builder decided to go bankrupt on the day of closing and Alia worked overtime to avert that disaster and she saved the day. We also relied on her heavily for that sale since we still lived out of state at the time and we found that she has always responded promptly to all questions and needs.

Then years later we decided to sell the same home at the end of summer when it’s typically slower and we received an offer on our home in a week! Thanks to her quick and hard work, we were able to start our kids at new schools before the school year began which was invaluable.

It’s such a pleasure to work with Alia. She’s a delight to spend time with, she communicates quickly, she works really hard, and maybe most importantly she always gives you her honest, unfiltered opinion so you can make the best decision possible. She’s simply the best!
