Alaska Surgery Center
Staff member was unnecessarily rudeGo to any of the other surgery centers in Anchorage, there certainly aren’t a lack of them. The care here is adequate, although a staff member was unnecessarily rude to my son the day of his procedure.
The biggest issue is their medieval & dishonest billing practices. His surgery was unexpected & insurance didn’t cover the entire amount.
We made payment arrangements and adhered to them. They sent us to collection after promising they would not. I called and they rescinded and I continued to pay.
They offered to reduce the remaining balance by 50% if I would pay in full by a certain date. I agreed (who wouldn’t?).
THEN, when my son’s attorney called to get the remaining balance owed, instead of saying “no, they made arrangements, it’s zero”, they tried to say we owed the previous remaining balance!
When I called, they tried to say it was because my last payment was outstanding.
Ridiculous! The payment would have processed well before my attorney could cut a check! AVOID this place! Go to Providence, go to Regional, go anywhere but this place!!
