I would recommend this experience to no one!

Like many, I seldom leave comments but felt compelled due to a recent purchase/delivery ~$5K. Purchase consisted of leather living room furniture, two lamps and a kitchen set.

Delivery was prompt and HASTY. Dining table legs assembled backwards, one lamp had a cracked shade and the loveseat reclining motor was defective with rusty bolts* (not stock) being used to attach armrests and middle piece. Reported everything immediately and got a little run-around until I spoke to the store manager Andres. He apologized for me having to reassemble the table and stated that the loveseat and lamp would be replaced with new items. Sounded good to me, we even went back and purchased a buffet/server due to the no fuss customer service.

Delivery #2: Prompt and HASTY! Loveseat had a rip on the leather (not to mention the armrest and middle piece fasteners were stripped yet assembled in a jerry-rigged fashion) and while assembling the lamp, the shade was shattered into my Persian rug…still finding glass…once again, the store was happy to replace the pieces with “new” items.

Delivery #3: Prompt and less hasty. Loveseat showed up in plastic…not a box like previous deliveries and was fully assembled…red flag to me…as the item was tipped up, I saw the same rusty bolts* previously used on delivery #1…could be a coincidence (not likely due to them not being stock pieces) or somebody trying to be slick. Additionally, the lamp, in box was dropped off with a “that is yours to do”…I even had to ask them to wait while I went and got a blade to open the box to ensure nothing was broken…taking my time I was able to assemble incident free!

Beyond the time spent, due to no fault of my own, it is my assessment that I was charged FULL PRICE for a REFURBISHED item. It is a shame as all of this occurred to a military member over Memorial Day weekend.

    Darrell Edward ,Very niece guy and funny I can’t say anything negative about him for he is about his job. I show him a picture that I wanted and use my Value City card to pay for it 9/21/22 but it wasn’t available for pickup until 9/23/22. Receive a call on 9/23/22 in the morning for pickup. Waited 30 minutes in the back of the warehouse, They realize that this item wasn’t available so they gave me the very one that was in the store , Lack of communication between the customers service and the customer, excuses, fault & blame. Talk to Liz the supervisor who explain to me that they were Sorry for the misunderstanding.

  2. Worst Customer Service Ever

    VCF work with a third-party contractor when delivering your furniture. However, when the delivery contractor damages your home, the WILL give you the run around and the employees conveniently do not speak English. VCF provide o assistance and you are on your own. Buyer BEWARE!!!!

  3. Just disappointed

    We bought a 3 price set of furniture couch loveseat and chair. All reclining, all pieces are broken we have had the furniture less then a year. 2 of the recliner buttons don’t work. Everything is bent and crooked. It’s the saddest set of furniture I’ve ever bought. We were so excited about this set and you can hardly sit in it. We called and a rep came out and took pictures. We are still waiting on parts to fix it and we have to call when they arrive. It’s been 9 weeks and nothing. My husband and I both work full time jobs and have two children , and we work extremely hard for our money, we cannot simply just go out and buy all new furniture again. From the get go the large couch was extremely uncomfortable with a wood board that literally digs into your back when you recline, but we never even complained about it because we were just excited to have a brand new set of furniture… I cannot begin to tell you how disappointing and aggravating this is.

    I will never never again fall for the value city…very poor customer service and their manager Suzane a plum is the worst…for the entire week they advertise sales for up to 50% off from 9pm to 12 am on…I got there around 845pm….they had nothing nothing for sale or on sale as the ad say….

    I will never never go back or shop value city…Please do not waste your time even bother going there…Ashley or Bob down the street offer better deal…I am very very disappointed..

    My wife and I were shopping for a new sofa and found one at the store in University City, Charlotte NC, # 112. The one we found was a leather sectional but we were reluctant to purchase the couch knowing the dangers that came with owning dogs and the possibility of pet damage.

    When we presented our concern to the sales person, Carol Baker, she offered us the “seven year limited warranty” which she said would cover anything. When I asked specifically if pet damage, such as chewing, scratches and/or puncture holes from claws, was covered under this warranty she said “yes”. That was the deciding factor for our purchase and the store making the sale.

    Unfortunately we had a section of our sofa chewed on yesterday and when I called to file a claim with the warranty company they said that we were not covered. Next I called the store to speak with a manager to discuss the false advertisement of the warranty.

    When asked if they would be willing to work with us on replacing the section, they said that unfortunately since it was not covered they could not do anything for us.

    Then I told them about the sales person falsely advertising about the coverage of the warranty to make the sale and asked if they could at least work with us on the price to replace the damaged piece.

  6. Bad Service

    I bought a Balley Panel Queen bed on January 27th and picked it up a few days later. Tonight, February 20th, the bed just broke. One of the side support pieces that props up the bed just broke off the side panel. This was a piece that was already premanufactured and came connected, yet somehow it broke off.

    I will be calling them tomorrow and they better make sure to take care of this in a quick manner that doesn’t involve lots of effort on my end. If they properly handle this situation and provide me with a quality replacement, I may upgrade my rating.

  7. I have seriously never been so disgusted in my life.

    My roommate and I ordered a couch from VCF when we lived in Arlington. I was at work the day it was delivered, but my roommate was home. The delivery men dropped off the couch, which was wrapped in plastic. After they left my roommate unwrapped the couch and called me immediately to inform me that the urine stench coming from the couch was so strong she couldn’t stay in the room.

    I couldn’t believe what she was saying. How could a NEW couch smell like urine? Well, when I got home later that day I could smell it the second I walked in the door. It was so strong. I got closer to examine the couch and honestly had to cover my nose and mouth.

    Upon inspection, I found animals hairs and multiple stains all over the couch. I was in shock. They had clearly delivered someone’s old, disgusting, peed all over couch. How is that even possible!?!? So I called VCF and they told me no one could come out until the following week to pick up and deliver the new couch? Were they for real??? I called every day demanding that this health hazard be removed from my home.

    Sure enough, they were not back for over a week. I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I have NEVER been so disgusted in my entire life. Do not ever order from VCF.

    To pay for a new couch and receive a delivery of a urine and pet hair covered piece of garbage is beyond comprehension. To have customer service allow that health hazard to remain in my home because their “trucks were already pre-scheduled” is an example of the worst customer service EVER. I have seriously never been so disgusted in my life.

  8. Stay Away like all the other posters on here said.

    Stay away from this place at all costs. This is one of the worst furniture stores out there. I recently brought a sofa and love seat combo from them and was pretty excited at first until I got to the delivery process.

    They called and said were going to delivery on a friday between 9:30am and 12:30 pm. I called the manager back and asked if I could change the time because I was going to be at work and couldn’t be home.

    I asked if they could push the delivery back a couple of hours to after 2pm. The manager said no and would not budge on changing the delivery time. I said I would cancel my order then but then she said that they would charge a 15 percent restocking fee for something that wasn’t even delivered yet.

    Just plain old riduculous if you ask me. I hope this post will keep at least one or more people from ever shopping at Value Shitty Furniture!!! Stay Away like all the other posters on here said.

  11. Will never shop here again. you disappoint me VCF!

    We gotta a table and sofas from here. I hate how every time you go in. The employees follow you around convincing you to get things even if your not interested. Its been almost one ear later and the sofas are in bad shape, there cheaply made.

    It might look good on the outside, but its not gonna last long. If you flip them over and look, its thin wood and stapled fabric. Sadly I have to replace the sofas as its embarrassing when people come over and you hear creaking nosies when you sit down. Will never shop here again. you disappoint me VCF!

    I had never seen such a horrible customer service …I also cancelled by purchase because they postponed my delivery day by 20 days. I will not recommend for any one.

  13. Bad Service Provide

    bought a new set of 6 chairs and glass table…what I got was 5 chairs and a table. upon inspection I notice out of those 5 chairs only one is in good condition the rest had scratches on leather and wood and on top of that the delivery guy dropped the base of the table glass and cracked it …

    so I only have one chair and i have to wait another week..also, the customer service is so awful they want proves to send a new base for the table…I’ll keep my review updated once I get what I paid for…so far I only have 1 chair
    btw, I uploaded the pictures here because I cant find the Value city email address, so go figure..

    I purchased bedroom furniture from Value City which I quick found out it was cheaply made when the bed broke when I sat on it to got to bed. It has been two (2) months and Value City has not honored their warranty,

    they have only used an old sales lie and said the part is on back order, and the manager is to busy to get on the phone to resolve this issue.

    I have never seen such poor customer service from a business in my life, and I have worked in sales and managed a business before and this type of poor customer service was not tolerated.

  15. The bed have been taken apart.

    The bed have been taken apart. Next he brings in the night stand. It was all nicked up and covered with a marker. It looked horrible. Told them to take it back. Since the dresser matched the night stand and beds,

    I said take that back too. The couches were fine. The delivery guys then told me the electric fireplace was also nicked up and covered with a marker. We were furious.
