Utility Savings Expert

utilitysavingsexpert.net - save 50% on any bill

Last October, my family members received a phone call from a company dubbed Utility Savings Expert, whose website (utilitysavingsexpert.net) features the tagline We are here to help you, but omits the second half of the sentence: separate you from your money.

The pitch was enticing: Utility Savings Expert claimed they could help customers save up to 50% on various bills, including cell phone, cable, electric, and more. All you had to do was share your account information in order for them to pay the bill on your behalf. Once you checked to make sure the bill was covered, you simply wired the company half the full amount due. Voila! Instant savings.

The offer was so tempting that my family members, who are retired and live on a fixed income, decided to try it with their Sprint phone bill. They gave the scammers their Sprint account information, and a few days later, sure enough, their $250 bill had been paid in full. Satisfied, they agreed to send half the amount to the Utility Savings Expert company. The catch? They could only send payment via wire transfer, not check or credit card.

Legitimate companies won’t require you to pay only by wire transfer or reloadable debit card.
That should have been a glaring red flag, says Brandy Bauer of the National Council on Aging. “Legitimate companies won’t require you to pay only by wire transfer or reloadable debit card,” she says.

It wasn’t until about a month and a half after they wired the money that they noticed something wrong. Sprint was charging them an additional $250 because a payment made on their account weeks ago had been reversed.

Here’s what most likely happened: the scammers called the issuer of the credit card they used to make the payment and alleged that it was a fraudulent charge—so the bank reversed the charge. Of course, the victims were out both the money they wired and still had to pay their Sprint bill.

  1. Great Savings Experts USA is a (SCAM)

I think it is the same people who have been calling me for the past 2 days now. Except this time, they have changed their company’s name to ‘Great Savings Experts”. If you ask for their website, it looks like they have it made, but it is all with broken English and grammatical errors and missing info. It looks like someone just put it together in a quick few minutes. Today is Jan 3rd, 2023, and I’m writing about this. I’m glad I did my research first before trying them out. I did not commit to anything with them but they have been calling me for 2 days now. The girl calling me says, her name is Aima Malik. They help us save 50% on utility bills. Sounds enticing, but I knew from the beginning that it sounds fishy. So I asked here a few questions, and She explained how they work… First, they ask us to try them out by using smaller bills (like phone or cable bills). She has been asking me to send her a copy of my bill through WhatsApp. Yes, through WhatsApp. Then what they do is they pay it on behalf of us, and once its paid off, then they want us to send them 50% of that amount to them. BUT, I am glad I came across this post here, because I told her that I wanted to first read up about their company before I made any decision. She said she has been working for this company for 3yrs but their website is still under construction… lol. BS. She also did not know how to speak any English..lol…Yet, she tells me she lives in Santa Monica, California and has been living there since 2010. lol… Red Flags!!! She was speaking in Hindi/Urdu which I know how to speak, so I was able to communicate with her. She send me a company letter head with info about what they do. It had so much broken English and grammatical errors.. It was hysterical. lol… I am so sorry to all the people who have lost their money to these scammers. I’m talking about the comments that I’ve just read here on this thread. I really hope no one else gets scammed by these people, which is why I decided to write something about this here to help people be aware of these scams that are out there. I wish there was a screenshot or picture I could add here, but I wanted to at least take the time to write something about it here so no one else falls victim to these scammers. I’m sure they are operating from outside of United States, which is why they can’t even speak proper English. Be Careful out there people! Happy New Year 2023, and be safe!!!

  2. I fell a victim of this scam and lost about $92,000

They approached me about a month ago. I refused to do business with them because I suspected that it was a scam but they kept coming back to me and urged me to at-least give them a try. I unfortunately decided to give them a try. Initially I gave them small utility and medical bills which they paid off to gain my trust. Then I gave them large bills that is where they failed miserably. They made payments on my behalf for large bills that I sent to them but the problem was that all those payments were returned after a few days. In the mean time they had received 50% of those payments (about $92,000) from me. They have written bad checks for about $350,000. I demanded my money back but they continued to refuse and I have not been able to get any money back from them.

  5. Scammer..

The Guy named Karan, these people do not know how much hardwork we do to earn that money which they loot from us. These guys are mostly Indians who shatter the name of India. I am an Indian and I am really sorry if any indian did this to you! All indians are not like this!

  6. Scammers leaving reviews here!

They called me today. After pretending to be excited about the discount, I asked what time it was in his city and because they are located overseas, he stumbled and guessed the wrong time.

Later in the call, I asked another “representative” what time it was, and he too stumbled and asked me what state I was in so he could tell me the time in his city?!

Anyway, just be careful, they are always scammers and I got their whatsapp number where I am supposed to leave a picture of my bill…a whatsapp number the company uses. Lol

They are leaving reviews here so any positive review is a scammer.

    Good luck
