Travelers Insurance

I had to pay for the mistake that Travelers Insurance did

I had my policy with Travelers for a year and I never had any problem with my car. So, I never had to deal with them, until when I wanted to renew my policy the next year. When I called them, they send their agent to my place to assess the condition of my car. The agent was scheduled to come the next morning before my office time. But, he was an hour late and I had to miss a very urgent meeting because of his irresponsibility. When he arrived, he gave me a checklist of the things needed to be fixed for continuing with the insurance. I must add, he never apologized for coming late. It was rude, but the insurance policy’s renewal date was approaching, and I did not want to make any scene out of it. So, I ignored.

I left for the office that day. Within a week, I did all the repairs that he asked for and sent him pictures every time I fixed the items from the list. I mailed them the pictures as well. I waited for few days. When I did not hear from them, I called them for an update. I was not left with much time to renew the policy and I was trying to save the relapse.

When I called, I was informed that there was one more repair that was needed. I would have appreciated if they would have informed a bit earlier. I was close to the last date. Hence, I made the necessary repairs at the earliest and sent them the images right away. I again waited for 48 hours for the reply which is their standard waiting time. But, I did not get any reply from them. I called them again.

This time, the lady who received the call, asked me to wait for few minutes while she checked with the concerned department. After few minutes of waiting, she told me that I would receive a call in an hour to confirm if there was anything remaining for me to do. I told her that it was a Friday and my policy was due on Saturday. I tried to make her understand the urgency. She assured that I would get a call.

It was already 4:00PM. I did not receive any call. I was busy in a meeting and did not know that the hour was already gone. When I checked, it was 5:30 PM and no one answered my call. I couldn’t do anything but waited for Monday. I called them first thing in the morning to find an update about my case.

They informed that they had mailed me the details and wanted my approval on mail. But, the email address they used was incorrect. They said that they would rewrite my policy for a higher amount as per the new amendments. I rejected, and they said that they would be cancelling the entire policy in that case.

Travelers Insurance made the mistake or did it purposefully, but I was the one who had to pay for that. I will never recommend them.

  1. Lying, Thieving, Deceitful, Con-Artists, Full Of Shit Insurance Company

Whatever you do, never purchase Business Owners Insurance from Travelers Insurance Company, because these con-artists will weasel out of every claim that you could possibly provide.

They are liars, cheaters, thieves, scumbags and deceivers.

They will take your premiums each and every month, but then not cover you when you need their assistance the most.

The especially worst Claims Analyst there, is Janet Trajbar, sometimes called Janet “Trash-bar” by those around her back.

This woman Janet Trajbar epitomizes everything that’s wrong with the property and liability insurance industry, especially at Travelers Insurance.

So do you yourself a favor and skip by, when Travelers Insurance name comes up when it’s time to choose an insurance policy.

  2. Delay and lowball. God Awful Claim Service.Lack of good faith.

Their insured was 100% at fault and was charged by police for totaling my car. Travelers did not acknowledge responsibility for a week. They did not provide a rental even afterward. Their claims rep forgot (?) to arrange the authorization. 13 days later we demanded a rental. They authorized 11 days total and made us a lowball offer. They upped it slightly a week later after I sent Car Guru listings showing replacement cost.. I filed a complaint with the SC Department of Insurance. Now Travelers refuses to speak with me directly. Twenty three days now. They do not care what your cost is to replace your car. Their attitude is.. take it or we can wait you out. Car insurance would be less expensive if we did not have to hire lawyers to be treated fairly.
