Town & Country Ford

Waste of Money

I have purchased more cars from Town & Country Ford dealerships than I care to admit. Being an ex salesman I know all their tricks and love to play the dumb female just to see how I’m going to be treated.

However when I’m denied the chance to drive a muscle car because it’s too powerful for me to handle that’s an insult I can’t get over.

It happened 10 years ago and I thought I was pass it.

I stopped by here to shop for a new mustang and I was totally ignored again even though there was one calling my name.

Never prejudge a customer is rule one in sales.

I was pushing speed laws and shifting gears b4 most of the staff was a twinkle in their Daddy’s eyes.

I dive an old sedan because my jobs required it when I purchased it but don’t get it twisted if I am looking at the the pretty car I saw in Car & Driver I can drive it and pay for it.

I shouldn’t have to have a male with me to be respected but your bias is another dealership’s gain.

This is why I have yet to buy a car from here.

After this trip I will not darken their door again.

I left and went to Sams to look into their car buying services so I can avoid the most unpleasant part of a car buying process.

All that let me go talk to my manager and waiting routine is played out and I’m so glad in 2019 buying a car isn’t worse than having a root canal like it used to be.

  1. Will definitely recommend Scott to anyone looking to buy a new car!

This is our 8th vehicle that we purchased from Scott Gilbert at Town & Country Ford in Bessemer. As always, the experience was very good and very pleasant. Will definitely recommend Scott to anyone looking to buy a new car!

  2. I have made numerous attempts to contact the individual that said he was taking care of it and surprise

I have made numerous attempts to contact the individual that said he was taking care of it and surprise, I’ve heard nothing back. I mean I even sent text and emails…. how hard is it to text someone back?!? But of course, they have already made the sale so why do they care.

Here it is two months since I bought the Jeep and I still have a drive out tag that expired a month ago, keys that do not lock or unlock the doors, and a check engine light that has been on since the day after I purchased it.

I have worked my butt off to get a new (to me) car, like most people who are purchasing a vehicle I expect it to be in good condition with all parts working.

But as it is I traded in a vehicle that had nothing wrong with it, was very reliable, just not a four-wheel drive and I got burned. The absolute worst customer service I have ever tried to deal with. I usually don’t do reviews but I wanted everyone that was considering buying from out of state to think twice before dealing with this dealership because it has been nothing but an uphill battle.

  3. Bad service.

Had to take our vehicle in for a warranty repair. Not all the issues were fixed the first time and NEITHER time did anyone call to say the work had been completed and was ready for pick up.

  4. Town and Country is a horrible dealership, and the owners are predatory liars!

Purchased a new F-150 4 months ago and it has required service for serious mechanical issues 4 times since then. On the 4th return, we requested Town and Country buy back the vehicle in accordance with the Alabama lemon law. The owners tried to convince us Alabama did not have a lemon law.

Then they attempted to convince us to trade in the 4 month old truck for $20,000 less than we paid for it 4 months prior. They absolutely refused to do what was right and required by law. We had to go directly to Ford to return the faulty vehicle. Town and Country is a horrible dealership, and the owners are predatory liars!

  5. I purchased a Certified Pre-owned Vehicle from Town and Country Ford Bessemer Alabama.

I purchased a Certified Pre-owned Vehicle from Town and Country Ford Bessemer Alabama. Since it was a certified pre-owned vehicle it came with a 12 month warranty. In addition I purchased an extended warranty to cover the car once the 12 month warranty warranty had passed.

One month after the 12 month warranty had passed I traded the vehicle due to unsafe reports stating that the car could catch fire while being driven. Upon completing my trade in I contacted Town and Country Ford to receive my pro-rated extended warranty refund. In actuality I had 1 month of the extended warranty time used to cover the vehicle.

  6. I am very disappointed in the service department of this dealership.

I am very disappointed in the service department of this dealership. I have only had my truck for 4-5 months. I had a tri-fold put on my truck when I bought it as I was told that it is easier if you need to haul something you can just fold it up out of the way. I have been very happy up until I took a vacation and on our way home the tri-fold was leaking.

Glad we were on our way home as all of our clothes got wet, not just damp but wet. I called and made an appointment to get this fixed. they said they had replaced the tri-fold…. they may have but again the tri-fold is still leaking. After numerous calls which I was asked where do I park the truck?

  7. Will update again after I take it to someplace that installs these all the time.

After taking the truck in yet again and being told the problem was fixed. It is not fixed. Going to try somewhere else to see if they can figure out why the tri-fold still leaks. I for one believe that it is not lined up correctly.

The edge rubber folds under and does not lay flat like it should thus allowing the water to leak. I should not have to take my finger and lift the rubber edge out from under the metal where it should lay flat.
