Tax Defenders

I hired this company to help with my state and federal back taxes. They charged me $700 to do an investigation which took several months for him to get back to me. I sent emails asking for an update and had never heard anything before.

I finally received a call from a vulgar gentleman telling me they looked into my taxes and my state taxes due were about 20,000 and that they could set up a payment plan for an additional $2500, but they may be able to get their state to settle on $5000 less so $15,000.

So I asked the gentleman about my federal taxes he said I didn’t hire them for my federal taxes I only heard them look into my state taxes. I have emails verifying that I did ask about my state and federal back taxes. So I asked him you think I paid you all $700 to look into my state back taxes, and you’re going to charge me $2500 to set up a payment plan that I could set up for myself for free, but you didn’t look into my federal taxes which would be the ones I need the most help with. I didn’t feel that this company was looking to help me at all but what I did get is that they’re all about money.

I don’t even understand why they would even think I only wanted help with my state taxes, $700 for you to look into something I could do myself, and then another 2500 to set up a payment plan, something that’s free for me to do myself.

He called and said he had a few options, but that was the only option he gave me. It was definitely about how fast you can get this money for your company. I would not recommend this company.
