Ronald Gruber, MD

Dr Ronald Gruber is the WORST surgeon

Dr Ronald Gruber is the WORST surgeon!!!!! When I first met him he was nice but acted arrogant. I thought maybe that was a good thing and thought he must be really good. However, after paying him a whopping $10,000 for a minor rhinoplasty, he did an EXTREMELY POOR job on my nose.

He made it look like I had a sausage on the end of my nose instead of skillfully shaping the area around the tip. He also left me uneven. I tried to live with it for a long while, but I just didn’t like it.

When I went back to him to share my dissatisfaction, he tried to make me believe it looked ok and was good enough. He said he didn’t want to do anything more to it. He just DIDN’T CARE. He was happy to get his massive $10K fee and brush me off.

He’s just one of most plastic surgeons who care mostly about the money, but he’s one who sometimes does VERY POOR work and yet refuses to revise it. I also think he just doesn’t have the skill to know how to make it look good.

I went to another plastic surgeon in Los Angeles who agreed that my nose looked unnatural and that it was a poor job done by Dr. Gruber. This surgeon is going to fix it. However, it infuriates me that I paid Dr. Gruber so much money for such poor work (that took him only an hour) and that he didn’t care and didn’t want to make it look better!!!!!

And now I have to pay another surgeon another $10K+ to make it look good!!!!! His legacy should be that he has done some VERY BAD work then cares more about the money and doesn’t care about fixing it (actually refuses to fix it)!!!!!

  1. I wouldn't hesitate for one second to give him my very highest recommendation.

I went to Dr. Gruber with an incredibly complicated rhinoplasty case, and he more than delivered. I’m extremely happy with my results, which look entirely natural and totally suit my face.

Dr. Gruber has a great aesthetic eye, and a very comforting bedside manner. Additionally, I have to give a big thank you to his entire staff, who are excellent and who consistently went out of their way to make me feel totally supported and completely comfortable.

  2. Good Service

At 21, I had an unsatisfactory nose job, and it became increasingly apparent that I would need to get it fixed. Finding the surgeon to do it was the problem.

A little research uncovered that some of the so called ‘celebrity’ type surgeons weren’t necessarily the true experts and the sheer amount of nose horror stories circulating the Internet scared me further. Often I felt hopeless altogether about ever having it resolved.

A top UK surgeon when asked who was the best at noses if distance wasn’t an issue, suggested a Dr Ronald Gruber. So I followed this lead. After just one phone consult, I knew I had found my doctor. It finally felt right and like I could put my trust in him. I loved the imaging he created for me and the method he proposed to match it. I also really admired his passion for the job as evident from his extensive CV that would make even the highest achiever feel lazy!

Not the most seasoned traveller, ten days alone in California was a daunting prospect. But Dr Gruber and his staff looked after me so well, I felt right at home. In fact managing the trip alone helped me to grow up a lot.

I met him in person the day before my surgery where he took some pictures and reassured me once again about what he could achieve.
I found him very calming; I suppose from all his experience it would take a lot to faze him. I could have clung on to him for the whole day asking questions but I was sent off to rest.

There’s a huge ‘Walgreens Pharmacy’ right across the road which is really handy and I’d recommend you pick up all your prescriptions and supplies (lots of soft drinks, straws, yoghurts, cereal etc.) there in advance.

The surgery the following day was not what I expected at all. It was like going to the beautician where you fall into a deep ‘sleeping beauty’ type rest from the IV sedation. I actually felt great the first night, chatting with the nurse who stayed over with me and ordering room service like a little slumber party!

  3. Just thought I would share that with everyone. .

I can’t believe how great it is to finally have a straight nose that breathes properly. I broke my nose when I was a teen-ager, had it fixed, but then fixed again because I breathed with my mouth open.

Then I had to have it done again because it collapsed. Finally my neighbor told me to see Dr. Gruber because he specializes in nose. I guess so because it is so nice not to have to wear Breathe-Rites and great to look normal. Just thought I would share that with everyone. .

  4. And for once my breathing is great.

I had just had my nose done and I am very happy with the results. I had a previous nose surgery with a different doctor last year and the result was that my nose looked even worse and my breathing was still obstructed. Dr. Gruber has given me a nose that looks great but natural. And for once my breathing is great.

  6. Very Bad

  7. Dr. Gruber is simply the best!

Dr. Gruber is simply the best! This summer he performed a rhinoplasty on my daughter. She inherited my beak!!!! I was very very nervous due to my past experience with “the nose job.” I have had four surgeries/revisions by different doctors and the appearance of my nose still bothers me.

  8. I am really happy now and wish I had gone to him in the beginning.

I saw Dr. Gruber for a rhinoplasty. I had 2 nose surgeries before that by 2 different plastic surgeons. My nose was horrible and embaressing. Then I saw 3 different surgeons for a consult to fix my crooked nose. My nostrils were small and I had a lot of trouble breathing. They all referred me to Dr. Gruber becaue they didn’t think they could make my nose better. When I went to his office his staff was very courteous.

He reassured me that I could be better. The surgery went smoothly even though I was really really nervous. Although I slept the whole next day I had no pain. In fact I didn’t even bother to take the pain medicine that was prescribed (except once). I am really happy now and wish I had gone to him in the beginning.

  9. I even brought some pictures in to show what I was hoping for.

This is my first review and I am excited about doing it. One of my friends suggested it. I am a patient of Dr. Gruber. My experience was really quite good. The staff was very friendly. The office has a relaxing environment. I had a wish list of what I wanted done to my nose.

I even brought some pictures in to show what I was hoping for. Dr. Gruber explained what he could realistically do and used his computer to draw some pictures for me.

  10. Dr. Gruber has a flimsy relationship to the truth, and I'm stuck with a nose I don't like to look at.

I concur with the reviewers who believe he oversells his ability, overcharges, and turns a blind eye and deaf ear to problems that he simply doesn’t acknowledge.

He initially tells you that he will provide one revision included in the original price of surgery, and later says that the revision is “free” but the cost of the surgery suite is an additional $2000.

  11. After receiving a letter from Doctor Gruber and his staff

After receiving a letter from Doctor Gruber and his staff, I’ve decided that what happened to me cannot be left undisclosed and that my story is just as important as anyone else’s.

I’ve had three rhinoplasty procedures done by Dr. Gruber, and all I’m left with is an oddly shaped nose, two very noticeable scalp scars on both sides of my temple, and a terrible suture scar behind my left ear caused by poor stitch work.

  12. very rude receptionist

very rude receptionist. Her name is Allie.

  13. run run run and never look back.

run run run and never look back. Offal results, undeserving reputation, he should have retired ages ago, double the cost of more qualified surgeons

  14. Ronald Gruber is the WORST surgeon!!

  15. Ronald Gruber, MD FACS Is Scam.

I went to Dr. Gruber and with his computer imaging adjusted my nose the way I wanted it, keeping it narrow and very little off front leaving convex profile. What I got was a concave profile that I was not happy with.

He offered to redo surgery by filling in the concave area with a piece of my ear, (really?) I was left with a very flat/ wide front nose and in my opinion with tons of regrets!
