Right Toyota

Poor shopping experience

Poor shopping experience. I mentioned I was interested in Camry’s. The salesman (a “gentleman” who had recently moved from ny where he owns a restaurant and who could answer very few questions about the car) doubled up with Fabio (another “gentleman”). Fabio tried to tell us that the first salesman’s bonus depended on a sale today.

The first salesman told us he needed to wrap up this sale as his family was waiting for him. The whole experience was awkward and inappropriate. When we said we needed to think about it, the first salesman stormed off upset. Threatened us that the “great deal” they were giving us would not work tomorrow. We kept hearing about his lost bonus. What about hearing about the car we were about to buy? Deeply unprofessional.

Jason D., I am not interested in contacting you or responding to your canned response. You’ve received enough similar feedback. Please deal with it in an honest manner. I wish I could remember the first sleazeball’s name but I can’t. I believe he had a Vietnamese name but I could be wrong. Either way, please acknowledge these issues and deal with your salesmen appropriately.

We ended up leaving and bought a car next door at right Honda just because I couldn’t stand hearing about shitbird’s bonus any longer. Why did we buy it there? Because the salesman we were working with would answer some questions with “huh, I don’t know that. I need to find out”.

This gave us the opportunity to learn more than we already did about the Honda Insight and decided to go with it. This is by contrast to the salesmen we interacted with at Toyota who made up facts, e.g. “nope. Never any recalls on that Toyota.” Really? A 3 sec google search says otherwise.

  1. DO NOT get that

Hmmm bought a new Rav from Right and my girlfriend wanted one also so she went out to the dealer in Sun City ad got then EXACT same Rav, color and all for 5K LESS!!!! and hers came with the roof rack and the two additional rails that go across the top and mud flaps and the plastic strips that go on the doors so as to not chip the paint….Thank you Right Toyota I won’t be back…rip off!!!

Oh, and I still can’t get anyone to tell me how the GPS works!! DO NOT get that…go to Costco and get the garmin…..and I did go thru COSTCO for the best price and still got taken….go figure…I am writing Costco a letter ALSO!! They assured me that I was getting the best deal going thru Costco……HELL-O CAMELBACK!!

  2. I will never ever refer anyone to buy a vehicle from them.

Right toyota is the worst place to buy a car. I purchased my Tacoma from them and I come to find out a year later I know my bad. I was told and signed that my used truck was 26k out the door come to find out on my credit and the total amount I finance is over 32k I got ripped off. They lie between there teeth on what your getting. I will never ever refer anyone to buy a vehicle from them.

  3. Worst car dealer experience ever.

After protracted haggling over price, we came to an agreement and I was writing out the check when they came back and said they sold the truck to someone else over the Internet.

  4. Very Poor Service.

I bought a used car 3 months ago. They owe me money. They goofed on sending the title info to my state. They never return phone calls. Very frustrated.

  5. I took my Toyota into Right Toyota Service Department for repair after calling them for a quote.

I took my Toyota into Right Toyota Service Department for repair after calling them for a quote. Two employees misquoted the price of the repair, one on the phone and one face-to-face. When the repair was completed and I found out that the cost was twice what I had expected, the Service Department Rep and I got into a heated argument at his desk.

He kept trying to tell me that I simply had misunderstood him, which I hadn’t as I had been very specific about what I wanted done. And saying your sorry doesn’t change the fact that you’re using bait-and-switch pricing tactics with customers. When I returned home I contacted the General Manager about the issue.

He tried to lure me back by telling me how sorry he was, however I declined his offer because something tells me I’m not the first person who has had this problem with them. Funny thing is, no one there seemed surprised at my reaction. I wouldn’t take my car there again if it were free.

  6. Beware the service department's recommendations

Beware the service department’s recommendations. I took my Prius in for an oil change. The called me later in the day to tell me that it is very unusual, but my brakes were completely worn down and needed new rear brakes right away for $250.

I had already agreed to other services that day, but it was adding up to be too much money so I opted to pass. They told me that I should really get them done soon since they will only last another 5,000 miles or so. So about a week later, I took the car to Brakes Plus. They said my brakes were great and I still had 60-70 % of them left.

  7. They will not sell you a car that you want, they will only sell whats convenient for them.

had traded in a white 4dr 4×4 trd off road for a Tacoma trd off-road. My vehicle was payed off and they gave me 22k for the trade in. I knew that my payments should be in the 200-300 range.

I had walked out with a 550/mo payment and am not happy. They took my trade in and knew what it was worth and made it seem like my credit was horrible.

They were quick to take my trade in but no help to get me the payments that were reasonable. Also, when selling me a vehicle, they tried selling me a vehicle that I did not want. They were pushing a customers vehicle that was ordered from the factory and backed out. I had told them what I had wanted and they were determined to sell what they had on site.

They will not sell you a car that you want, they will only sell whats convenient for them. Buyers beware as any other dealer will give you an honest experience as Toyota is quality all the way.

  8. WE HAVE A GOOD NEWS FOR YOU! YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN NEXT 10 DAYS

We ordered new navigation disk for my Highlander on Monday, January 25th (Service representative, Darvin, placed the order in our presence ). He told us that it would take about a week and somebody from Parts department will contact us.

A week later (on February 1st) we stopped by at Right Toyota dealership and asked Darvin about status of our order. He told us that because it is a new disk and it should come from California there will be another week to wait. Also, we spoke with Parts department representative on the same day and he confirmed that.

Today, February 10, (after two weeks and a half of our original order) we called the Service department and were told that our order was never placed. We asked Parts department representative to find out what happened with our original order and why we were told twice that order was in place.

He put us on hold for about 30 minutes and never came back. In order to resolve the problem, we drove to Right Toyota. We spoke with Assistant Service Manager Bob M, who placed a new order for us. Then, we spoke with the Manager of Parts department, who told us that order was never placed.

He promised us to resolve this problem and expedite our order. After we came home we received a phone message with something like “WE HAVE A GOOD NEWS FOR YOU! YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN NEXT 10 DAYS.” Is this is a joke? What kind of customer service is it?

  9. This one failed in every way...

It never amazes me when purchasing a car, the dealership always touts they are unlike other dealers. They care about their customers and will do what is needed to earn your business.

  10. Not Good Service Provide

I had agreed on a price for a car. Then the Finance Manager decided to jack up the price after I’d already started the paperwork. I was really shocked by this bizzare unethical behavior.

I talked to many people after this $12 trick they tried to pull and nobody has ever heard of anything like that happening in their entire history of buying cars. It was WEIRD.

It was really strange that they wanted to jeopardize the sale of the car over a mere $12 price increase, and I’ll never understand why they tried so hard to blow the sale after I’d already agreed to buy the car.

After buying the car I found out they spelled my name wrong on the registration. I emailed them to ask for help correcting the error and they did not even reply.

  11. Never Again

After hearing about how Right Toyota was going to contact me to make sure I was satisfied after each service, I finally get this invite to review them after 3 years and 1 year after I stopped servicing the truck by them. While a customer, they would get me in at their leisure as each time i scheduled service online, they had no clue about it at the dealership.

They would keep me there for 2 hours each time. After the last service, I was told oil changes were only done every other visit, so why did it take 2 hours on the off visits? Oh well, I’m done with wasting my time and will not be wasting my money there.

I did get recall done at a different dealership and voila, 1 hr total time there and I got a phone call the next day asking if everything was to my satisfaction. Wow, what a difference location makes.

  12. If not, there are plenty of other Toyota dealers in town.

During both of our test drives (the MDX and the Tacoma) I told the salesman multiple times that I generally like to buy new cars or very low mileage used cars and keep them till the wheels fall off! Our current Acura TL is 12-years old with 215,000 miles.

BUT HE NEVER LISTENED TO ME. So we finally relented and let them pull credit to start talking some numbers, because he wasn’t inclined to talk numbers until he did pull credit. So he comes out with a payment plan for a 2-year lease! Seriously.

A lease! I then told him to his face, again, “I don’t want a lease, I want to own the car and drive it for many years”. He response was, “Right Toyota wants to earn my business for all future cars and they want to see me back in 2-years when the lease expires for my next new car”!

I asked him to try again with a standard 60-month term, his response was something to the effect that 60-months is a longer term and will require additional approval. My wife and I looked at each other with the universal eye roll gesture that its time to go! But wait…that’s not all.

Before we could escape a finance department guy then comes out from the shadows and sits right between my wife and starts laying on the salesman tactics pretty thick. After a few pleasantries, he asks us, “So who is this truck for?” We respond, “for my wife”. He then proceeds to ask, “who is paying for this truck?”.

Unbelievable! Neither my wife or I were baited by his tactic. We were actually offended by the whole process and utter lack of listening skills. We will NEVER step foot back on that car lot again. If you like the hard ball sales tactics, this is place for you!!! If not, there are plenty of other Toyota dealers in town.

  13. Not only is it NOT RIGHT...It's actually WRONG what they do there.

Not only is it NOT RIGHT…It’s actually WRONG what they do there. NEVER AGAIN!! Went to Right Toyota to look at a used Acura MDX last weekend. After finding a few issues with the vehicle (unrelated to Right Toyota), we decided it wasn’t “the” MDX for us.

My wife has always wanted a truck, so we decided to take a look at the Tacoma’s just to check them out since we were there. While we were very impressed and really liked the truck a lot, we simply had not gone there prepared to by a “new pick up truck”, but rather a “used Acura MDX”.

They did not understand that concept after I told him such and would not take no for an answer. It turned into constant badgering of “how can we earn your business” and “what will it take to sell you this truck today”. It got old real quick.

Yes we liked the truck, but not the color, and hadn’t really gone prepared to buy a pick-up I knew very little about. I asked if he could get us a different color, but he basically hinted to the fact that “No, Right Toyota doesn’t like to trade with other dealerships”.

  14. I will NEVER give another dime to Right Honda.

ust read Michal T’s review and there is definitely some unethical conduct at Right Honda. When I went to pick up my new car I found my payment was more than we had discussed. I was also given half the amount for my trade-in as I was lead to believe I was getting. I was informed right before it was time to sign the papers.

The car was also missing items that I paid for. (Rear Mat – wheel locks – tinted windows) and they never even cleaned the inside before handing it over to me. The general manger Darrell Deak was not concerned when these issues were brought up and Jacob Kannada (sales person) tried to justify everything that soured the deal for me.

I have written to Honda North America and brought my experience to their attention and there has been no action from anyone as of this writing. I bought my car 6 weeks ago and I am still angry as heck with them. Honda may be a good product, that remains to be seen, but I will NEVER give another dime to Right Honda.
