RCI Travel Packages

RCI Travel scams people through false advertising

After checking their ad which was very exciting, I paid for RCI travel package. The package was worth $1999. I paid a deposit of $199 and was out on a monthly payment of $100 for 18 months. The company also told me that I could use the certificate for years. As a gift, the travel package included 7 day cruise which also included 2 and 1 week hotel stay for a couple.

While booking the cruise I missed the cut off date by one day. However, I was told an altogether another date. Anyway, I tried to talk the consultant into it and I was turned away. I was told that I will have to pay an additional cost of $1300 to upgrade the package for enjoying the cruise. Or, I can pay $599 per cruise certificate and $399 per resort stay certificate. This will extend my booking date for 6 more months.

I am not at all convinced with what these people have to say. I have paid for three certificates already. And, now I cannot even use these certificates. This company also does not refund your money. Once you have paid, you can never expect it back.

If you are not using your package, they will offer an upgradation plan. However, you have to buy another package of $3400 to be able to upgrade your plan. This is not only expensive but would get you nothing that you have paid for.

The company uses fraud tactics to lure customers and in return they get nothing. This is not the end. This company charges fees that were never told. When you will try to use these certificates, they will charge taxes on these certificates. This was never told when I wanted to buy the package. The resort stay does not come for free. You pay a lot even after paying for the entire travel package.

After all these frauds, the company management is not polite enough to handle queries with ease. You get to know so many words that you never had heard before. These guys are abusive and keep disconnecting your call if it is not a sales person you are looking for.

I was not given any concession for the money I paid to them. They did not assist me in getting the reservations that I should have. They gave me a wrong date and closed the reservations early. All these wasn’t enough that they asked me to pay more. They have the nerve to keep asking you for your money.

The people working here have no empathy and are advised to scam customers. No one will listen to your problems. These guys are scammers and fraudsters. You cannot expect mercy and genuine answers from these guys.

They will eat your money. They are illegally advertising their packages and trying to make people believe in something that is not ever going to happen. Soon, they will be closed for fraud and scam. I want to see all from RCI behind bar.

  1. Fake promises. LOST ALOT - no trips as promised.

Bought cruise/land package then covid hit No cruises to book – missed cut off date and was told it was no longer available – expired. Then used the land package and booked in Dominican Republic for a week in June of 22. Cancelled in
March and was told to reboook by August 1st of 22. Called May 2nd and was told the trip offer expired May 1st. So I lost this too. Nothing ever sent by e-mail to verify any of this. BEWARE..

  2. paid for the cruise that not able to use

I have paid for the package pre pandemic. My cruise has been cancelled three times. Although I have paid for the cruise in full I can not sail because there is a balance on the account that I can not verify. I was on the hold and disconnected over five hours. No One is helping and the line at some point just drops. I have sent them an email there is no response. I have been scammed and people should know about it and never use RCI. The company should be sued for consumer abuse

  3. Delay and deceive

After nearly a year of going back and forth with RCI Travel regarding the rebooking of an international vacation that we canceled due to the Covid 19 US travel restrictions and recommendations, our claim was denied in a voicemail. We were handed off more than 7 times over the past year and could never speak to a decision maker. Each interaction required a referral and further investigation by an inaccessible management team. My family has no qualms with RCI with regards to their timeshare exchange services. It is strictly the RCI Travel Packages program. I will contact the Ohio Attorney General’s Consumer Fraud Division tomorrow to file a complaint as well. Stay away from this bait and switch group using the RCI moniker.

  4. I bought a package from this company for almost $3,000.00 and it was supposed to include a 7 day Cruise for 2, a 7 day package anywhere you like and a 7 day package on the Maya Riviera. Well, they have changed there policies and I ‘m not getting anything and they are not returning my money. They take your money and they don’t deliver anything. All I got in the mail was a small envelope with 3 small postcards that said 7 day Cruise, 7 day package, 7 day package and a $500 card savings credit. None of these post cards have a must travel date or an expiration date on them. It doesn’t look like a professional package you get from other travel agencies. Don’t buy anything from them because they are only going to keep your money and give you nothing.

  5. Don't fall for these liars!

Cruise certificate? Big dirty scam! Just deal with the cruise company directly! You will get a better deal than going with these people!

  6. Big Scam Do not fall for it!

I got sold this $4000.00 package cruise with 7 day resort.
Last time I called, they can not give the 7 day resort because it expired.
They will keep calling to get money from you. They will not refund the cruise certificate so I am stucked!

  7. I want a class action suit filed! Anyone with me?

These liars are trained to tell you what ever they want to get you to fall for their sugar coated scam!! They promise you the world and then when it comes to the expiration date they jerk you around. I couldn’t get into my account because my membership was CLOSED, I could NOT get a hold of anyone on the phone. Then I get contacted by Fabio telling me that my resort certificate is going to expire, in one day….Figure that out.

  8. Lie about everything just to get your money!

These people promise you the world and then rip you off! I booked a cruise about a year ago but, because of COV-ID 19 it was canceled. I paid over $2800.00 for this package that was sold to me by a so called person named Robert Brown, never could contact him after he made the sale. My account is now canceled and I can’t get a hold of anyone willing to help me. You would think RCI would throw you a bone because of COV-ID restrictions, like reinstate your package with extended dates but, no they just take your money a cut you off!

  9. RCI travel is a corrupt business

RCI travel has cheated me and ultimately I will be losing a $4,000 Cruise credit because of their continued cancellation of it. They claim covid but they do nothing to make right on it either. I never asked for my money back I asked for extensions Etc they are trucks.

  10. Scam

There has to be some regulation that prevents companies from scamming customers with false packages. This is horrible. And after sitting on the phone with them being transferred for 3 hours they never came back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

  11. Horrible service

I tried to book my cruise certificate the Saturday before it expired but the department I needed was closed over the weekend. I called on Monday and spent 2 hours being tossed around to different people finally I got someone who said he was emailing his supervisor and would personally call and email me back when it got extended. A week later I heard nothing so I called back and the guy I spoke to said they would call me and he saw the note in the system. I kept calling and finally a month later the guy I spoke to says they stopped doing extensions in January. I asked to speak with a manager and he said I would hear back later that day. I NEVER got a call. The next day someone called to let me know my hotel stay was expiring and I brought it up to her that a manager was supposed to call me. Still no manager has called and I’ll be calling tomorrow again to speak with a manager. Completely unacceptable and such a scam. Not one person in an entire month said they weren’t doing extensions. Clearly they just lie.

  12. RCI Travel Packages

I would recommend NOT to use RCI Cruise & Travel!
We had booked our cruise over a 1 1/2 years ago and a vacation resort stay. Due to the global pandemic the cruise was cancelled. We are able to rebook the cruise with the cruise line. BUT the hotel we were not able to rebook because we didn’t purchase the insurance. I called to inquire back in June 2020 and was told that because we didn’t take insurance there was nothing they could do.!!! I was told to contact the resort to see if there was something they could do.
The resort hotel told me because it was booked thru these guys that I would have to contact RCI Cruise & Travel. A run around. I tried to contact these guys the Friday prior to the hotel stay to speak to a manager and spent 1.5 hours on hold 2 days in a row and no one ever answered the call. I ended up hanging up.
Our boarders have been closed since March 2020 and we are not able to travel unnecessarily to the USA!
I will never ever use their services again and I would never recommend these people to anyone!

  13. No Customer Service Skills at all

I purchased a travel package and booked my Cruise and also my resort stay. COVID hit and my resort stay in Hawaii was not possible. I worked with 5 different Agents, all saying they will contact me once my refund and new certificate have been done so we could book a resort at a different time. All 5 did not call me back. I have yet to see a new certificate. I have spent an accumulation of 27 hours on hold between Dec 21st through Dec 30th and have yet to speak to a rep. Does anyone know the email addresses to the Board of Directors for these chumps? Direction comes from the top down. Time to expose RCI for what it is. I found the president of the company email off to him already, but no expectation he cares. Oliver shame shame….everyone knows your name! My best advice, run away from their scams and lack of human care and understanding. Any one that works for them, find your pride.

  14. Agree with the bad review

I completely agree with the review of the person who lost $2,000! But in my case, I lost even more, about $3,000! The other reviewer described it very accurately. They are heartless individuals probably as a policy who don’t care about making accommodations or understanding your situation. It’s all about the money and they are more than happy to take thousands of dollars without giving you anything in return! It’s a scam like the upgrade offer the other reviewer says. I also hope their scam will be exposed as more people file complaints and that some people go to jail or this entity closed! They are just plain wrong and unjust with how they deal with customers. They seem to think that thousands of dollars is quite nothing to lose! There is absolutely no accommodation, refund, or good customer service. Total scam and heartless people. The worst part of it is that they must know what they are doing in scamming people, it’s very obvious! I hope they Go to jail for stealing people’s money!

  15. I got cheated!

I was told that if I buy this travel package for a Cruise and a 7-day resort stay that I would have 18 months to book the cruise and 18 months to use it. I logged in on the last month to book and it said it had expired. When I called to see why they gave me misinformation I was told that it had expired the middle of the month we are in. So the lady I spoke to said it expired on the 14th instead of the end of the month, which was never explained to me. She said it is to the exact day that they ran your card. I feel like they just take your money and you get nothing but grief and lies from them. If you purchase this then expect to book right away or lose your certificate. What a waste of money.
