Portfolio Recovery Services

No Validation Provided by Portfolio

I got a call from the Portfolio Recovery Services about two debt accounts. They said that I must settle the same or I can file a dispute. They did not provide me any information about the account details. I sent them mails asking about more information on the accounts. I needed documentation for both these accounts. However, they never responded. Hence, I had to go through the Consumer Federal Protection Bureau. I sent them notices through the Consumer Federal Protection Bureau. But, they seem to ignoring my request.

At first, I sent these people a generic letter asking for the debt validation and accounting details of both the accounts they were referring to. I waited for 30 days to receive the information. But they failed to provide any of them. They sent me a generic letter including the debt amount and the window I had to pay the same.

I then, disputed the same with three credit Bureau. Again, Portfolio Recovery Services did not provide any proof. I again filled a complaint asking for the full validation and accounting of those two accounts. In return, they responded with a letter. The letter was not even address to my name. It was a different name and I had not heard about such name ever.

This clearly shows that the company does not have the documentation for these accounts. I sent them postal mails to dispute the letter, but no reply.

All they do is call me anytime and disturb me for paying the debt. They are harsh and won’t listen to me. I said that I was not the one addressed on the letter. But they keep talking and won’t let me explain my situation.

This company is using unethical and illegal ways to take my money for no reason. I have all the proofs ready and I have all the rights to know the accounting details and validation details of the accounts before making any payments.

They are also liable for sharing even the smallest details they have on the accounts. Or, they are not allowed to terrorize people like this. These people are even calling my friends and family. Last time, they called my office number. It was very embarrassing. I had to explain it to my boss. He is very particular about the legal issues and charges.

The company is trying to do their best to get into my personal life and disturb me. Only that I pay some debt amount that I don’t even owe. This is illegal and I am going to do everything to stop these guys. I even checked on the internet and have found many such complaints against Portfolio Recovery Services. These guys call and call. Many people have paid without even owing any debt.

The complaints explain that this is not a mistake. They do it intentionally to terrorize people into paying money. Shouldn’t they be called blackmailers. I feel so strongly. This company is a scam.
