PockitShip

I would not recommend this company at all.

Worst moving experience – the actual moving is outsourced and there is no quality control. I needed to move a twin bedroom set, a queen bed, a dinning set and an office set, all emptied and only needed to be wrapped and moved. The 2-men crew came with 1 guy being taught on the spot how to pack furniture, the other one was constantly on the phone. It was obvious they didn’t bring enough blankets within the first hour of packing; they dragged my mattress totally unwrapped all the way downstairs and out the door, soaking wet in the guy’s sweat. The moving distance between pick up and delivery destination was 3.6 miles, and it took the guys 40 minutes to drive that distance. With my full moving list, Pockitship thought I could either do an all-in deal for $495, or do the $140/hr 2-men crew deal with 4 hour minimum but shouldn’t go too much beyond that. I didn’t even have the crew move everything on the list, because after 4.5 hours, they hadn’t finished packing. This eventually became a 6.5-hour ordeal, and I have to pay $910 for this. Moreover, the guys damaged the entrance door frame while moving a bookcase into the house. For $140/hr, I thought I was paying a premium for a 2-men crew and expected professionalism from both the contractors and Pockitship. I would not recommend this company at all.

  1. I can't recommend more highly.

The service provided by Pockitship and Ally movers was absolutely perfect! Easy to schedule, reasonably priced and flawlessly executed. Pockitship and movers communicated every step of the way. They were on time, professional and conscientious. I can’t recommend more highly.

  2. My company used them to move some nontraditional items.

My company used them to move some nontraditional items. They did a fantastic job. All the qualities you would want in movers, they had it. While setting up the move, Quynh was thorough, informative, patient. The movers were very punctual. I will be using them to move again soon.

  3. I requested a custom quote for a large item.

I requested a custom quote for a large item. I even sent a picture with people standing next to it. They quoted me $139. Two people showed up to do the move, and they indicated that it would take 3-4 people. I was charged a fee for the non-delivery, and paid to have 3 people come and move the furniture.

The day of the rescheduled move, two people showed up and made the move, because it only took two people in the first place. I was initially charged a total of $300. After notifying PockitShip, they were very responsive and able to correct the situation.

Nonetheless, I still needed to take two 1/2 days off work . Lesson learned is: When requesting quotes, be really specific. Send dimensions and weights for larger items.

  5. Service was as advertised, with two exceptions.

Service was as advertised, with two exceptions. One, materials for packing were temporary/for moving purposes only – my stuff was going to storage so was hoping for something more substantial.

Two, the driver took a 45 minute lunch break between the pickup and the delivery – and did not tell me until i texted asking where he was. Was a long wait at the storage facility, for a job that took 10 minutes to pickup and 10 minutes to deliver. Called corporate – they were unapologetic. Would use again, but buyer beware.

  6. These guys were great.
