Really wish I could give them no stars!

My family and I purchased over $10k in furniture, a guy named Fred helped us at the Alexandria Location. He tried to get us a “deal” on the furniture, but that was not enough.

We purchased the furniture back on July 3rd and have still not received our bedroom furniture and mattress. I have been getting phone calls from customer service with ETA and they keep pushing the date back! Listen to all the reviews I really wish I would’ve looked at them before buying here! DO NOT SHOP AT MARLOS! Customer service is TERRIBLE! Prices are ridiculous and takes forever to get to your home. I will definitely be asking for a refund.

  1. Unprofessional behavior

    My name is Muatassim Aziz, and I bought furniture from Marlow at Alexandria on February 5, 2023, for a total amount of 13255.02, having invoice# 202300462. Our customer service representative told us we would receive the first delivery, which should include all items except one Queen bed, next Saturday, February 11, 2023. The Sales rep confirms that the delivery crew will wear shoe covers when entering our house.

    I live in a townhouse that is about 90% carpet. The rest is the kitchen, where we have a hardwood floor. Delivery from Marlow arrived as agreed, and the crew did wear the shoe cover. However, all furniture except the sofa set was either scratched or damaged. Therefore, we received the Sofa set and returned the rest of the table. After calling Marlow and having a run around of a week, they assured us that we should receive all our furniture except the Queen bed next Saturday, February 25, 2023.

    As scheduled, Delivery Crew arrived on February 25, 2023, but this time the crew refused to wear the shoe cover without even seeing my house. We tried explaining that the last team did wear the shoe cover and that we have new carpet put on the stairs and bring shoes, especially on a rainy day just not going to work.

    The Delivery crew still refused and, in addition, informed us that most of the items sent were the same items sent last time and they are either scratched or damaged. After hearing that, we called the Alexandria Marlow store to talk to the Sales representative and explained to her that delivery folks are refusing to wear the shoe cover and some of the items seem damaged as per the delivery crew. The customer Sales rep we called was not only rude, but she also hung up on me.

    However, she kept insisting that it was against their policy to wear shoe covers, even though we had it confirmed by Sales Rep and the last delivery crew wore shoe covers. After that, we (My wife and I) decided to drive to Marlow to complain to the Manager about this behavior.

    When we arrived at the Customer Sales Center, the same lady greeted us with rudeness, and we asked her to cancel our order or call her Manager. When she went to get the Manager, the other lady in the sales center started laughing at us.

    Therefore I asked her, “you think this is funny, that we are your customer and had to go through this kind of customer service” she, instead of apologizing, started to raise her voice and told me to get out of her face. By this time, the first lady arrived at the sales office and told her to follow Manager’s office and complain about us.

    We followed both ladies back to the Manager’s office, who now decided to talk to us. After arriving at his office, he was listening to the second Sales lady, and after looking at me, addressed me by asking, “why I am rude to his employees” I could not bear the rudeness and unprofessional behavior of this Manager and asked him to please cancel my order as I do not want to do business with this store.

    He replied he could not cancel as the delivery crew was not back yet and that there would be a fee that I would have to pay if I decided to cancel. After hearing all this unprofessional behavior, I told the Manager to pay the 10% fee per your agreement instead of dealing with this kind of behavior.

    It is Monday, February 27, 2023, and we have yet to receive a call from the Manager. The Manager further said that he still could not cancel as the delivery crew did not arrive and would call us on Monday to go over the cancellation if we still wanted to pursue the cancellation. I cannot believe I have to put up with this kind of unprofessionalism after spending about 14k in their store.

  2. Marlo Furniture Is Scam.

    Beware! This is my lesson to thoroughly read reviews EVERY time. We have just realized we had a slick salesman who did not include what he said he would “throw in” and charged us for a protection plan that we did not ask for or want. In order to cancel an order,

    the customer service representative said you have to go back to the store and cancel in person and cannot cancel online or on the phone even though customer service has your invoice pulled up right in front on them.

    This store is a scam and has turned us off from all of these types of discount furniture warehouse stores. A company that cares about their reputation and customers would waive the 10% cancellation fee. Very disappointed.
