Masquerading as an Internet Investment organisation
These people will contact you by phone and either:
a. They masquerade that they are a business that will re-instate and return funds that you may have lost with another online investment company. I have since found out that NO-ONE CAN RECOVER YOUR MONEY FROM A BROKER WHO HAS SCAMMED YOU! They usually ask you to transfer money to them via a CRYPTOCURRENCY and set up a WALLET to do so!
They tell you they cannot accept Bank Transfers or DEBIT/CREDIT CARD transfers!!!! THIS SHOULD BE YOUR FIRST SIGN THAT YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED BY THESE CROOKS. Oh, yes, they sound like friendly, caring people but make no mistake, THEY ARE AFTER YOUR MONEY AND THE MORE THEY CAN GET, THE BETTER!
b. They tell you that they offer an INVESTMENT SERVICE through either their own or a FALSE BROKERAGE NAME trading on the MetaTrader PLATFORM (Please Note: Metatrader is NOT CONNECTED WITH THIS FRAUD!).
They tell you they charge either a small fee or a % share of the profits they WILL MAKE FOR YOU! This sounds like an attractive deal. Typically they will ask for a minimum investment of say $US250 OR 300Euros. They will then show you a few successful trades which show a small profit. They then ask you to increase the amount of your investment so that they can make ‘more enormous profits for you. BUT, ONCE YOU INVEST MORE, THEY WILL DISAPPEAR, TAKING YOUR MONEY WITH THEM!!
DO NOT ALLOW THEM – OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER – ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER VIA A PRODUCT LIKE TEAMVIEWER OR ANYDESK (also NOT related to the scam!). They will access your personal and banking information, and you may find that they can deduct more money from your bank account!
I received several of these approaches and would not allow them to see my banking details on my screen. However, I did fall for the trap of investing more money after they ‘produced’ a few successful, profitable trades.
My bank informed me that this company was likely to be scammers, but I had spoken with their representative over some weeks and thought they sounded like ‘nice enough people’….BUT NOT SO!!!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS AND ANY COMPANY THAT DOES ANY OF THESE THINGS!! YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!
