Houwzer

Totally Disappointed

I called the main number for a consultation, and Carlos talked me through everything (he was wonderful!) and said the local agent would be in touch.

I explained I travel to work to California so please email or call me after 9 AM PST(12PM EST).

The local agent then called me at 6AM PST two days later, which is a long time to wait for a phone call.

I called him back, got voicemail, didn’t receive a call back for another day, so emailed him.

I said that I need someone who is responsive and who can help me sell my house in a reasonable period of time.

I also said if you don’t think that you’re going to be able to meet with me and communicate, I can find someone else.

He replied back that I should find someone else. Totally disappointed that Houwzer can’t even get back to me within a reasonable period of time.

I called Redfin that same day and the agent talked to me and met me that weekend when I came home.

It has been a seamless process with the agent, who walked me through everything.

Highly recommend Redfin!

  1. Houwzer Dosn't Follow Through

Contacted Houwzer Real Estate about a true Flat fee listing, different than what they advertise for For Sale By Owner seller.

Couldn’t get representative to answer a simple question and asked why when I contacted their agent by email no one bothered to let me know if they could help me sell my home or if they weren’t interested just say so.

No communication or poor communication is the first sign of a bad customer service experience, and when doing something as critical as selling a home for a client without it, it’s nightmare waiting to happen.

There are many upfront and communicative brokerages and real estate companies that would love to have my business and know how to comunnicate in a timely manner. Apparently Houwzer a newer company hasn’t figured that out yet.

  2. SAD KNOCKOFF OF REDFIN

Not a very good experience. I thought I would try this new real estate broker newcomer which basically stole their business model from REDFIN. When it comes to the most important asset you own, do not use this company. Inexperienced agents and lackluster operations burning through investor money to stay afloat.

  3. The future of real estate

Houwzer’s full-time salaried agent model will be the only way to buy a home in the future. The only reason it hasn’t already changed is because the top 5% of realtors keep it that way, while the rest struggle to survive. It just makes no sense to have agents push their client to buy a more expensive house so they can get a bigger commission.

My agent, Brett Stephenson, was very patient as I took awhile to find the perfect home/investment in a historically low inventory market because he didn’t need commission to pay his bills. Yet he worked hard to find me the perfect fit as Houwzer’s technology and team of admins allowed him to focus my needs, making it a seamless experience. It was also nice that he only specializes in helping people buy houses not sell them too.

I will definitely be buying my next houses with Houwzer and tell everyone I know about their services. When I eventually sell a home, there’s no doubt I will sell with them and save half the cost! Other than having a friend who is a realtor, I don’t know why someone would buy or sell a home with anyone but Houwzer.

  5. I'd use Houwser exclusively from now on.

Incredible!! Not only is Houwser “Full Service” but I’d say it’s BEYOND full service. How many listings have dark, ugly photos taken by the RE agent? Houwser sends a well trained, expert photographer who really spends the time to get everything right – including a virtual walk-thru.

Howard and his team did everything beyond expectations including a postcard mailer, open house, professional signage, MLS listing – on-and-on. My listing had multiple offers after 11 days on market. I’d use Houwser exclusively from now on.
