Heights Management

Bad Experience

Heights Real Estate managed the YOHO Artists Lofts in Yonkers. I rented a unit there.

I had a terrible experience in the unit. I asked the building manager for permission to end my lease early because of the many reasons that I couldn’t stay there.

He agreed to it, and I requested my deposit back, as I could not walk away from my property without causing damage.

He was willing to accept, but he never returned the form for my deposit.

Heights Real Estate was contacted to collect my deposit. I met with the tenant to hand over the keys, and he warned me. However, it was denied.

I repeatedly asked the manager of artist’s lofts (he never answered emails, but I could sometimes catch him on the telephone) to keep his word. I am owed $330. I am entitled to more than that.

My unit was on the second floor. Dirt from this floor can get into everyone’s units. My team shouldn’t need a ceiling.

I am not usually the one that handles maintaining the cleanliness of the air in my unit.

When I was away from work, I couldn’t keep my supplies in order.

My unit had an exhaust fan that leaked water. I put a towel over it. I’m reasonable, and it was apparent when I moved in.

Then, there was the fire. I was on many business trips for a few months, so I wasn’t there for several weeks.

I returned to my home to find all my art and equipment moved onto tables.

I was not emailed or called. There was a fire in our building, and it was evident that there was smoke in our unit.

They did not do a good job cleaning up. I can see they tried to move my property well, but some of it was damaged.

And there was still 1″8″ of dirt all over my stuff! They were so shocked when I arrived.

Tell me, Heights Real Estate, whdon’t’t you think I should receive my deposit back? That’s what I asked for.

Didn’tdn’t ask for you to pay my damaged property (my artwork, which I use to earn a living), andidn’tdn’t ask for your HOURS of work that I spent cleaning up the mesIt’sIt’s unbelievable that I was not emailed or called when there was work to do. How did you hide it?

Please, give me my deposit back. Please. Be decent. Could you give me a bit of what you owe?
