Good Opportunity Homes & Invest...

Customer Service

Good Opportunity Homes & Investments was my listing agent for my wife, and I wanted to buy the home.

We were in escrow for the house but eventually pulled out of the deal due to extensive repairs and refusals by the sellers to lower the price.

The refusal of the sellers of their house to fix the numerous issues that plagued it ultimately stalled the deal. However, the listing agents also played a part.

Their role in the process would be described as “absent” by me.

They were not easily reachable by phone. They could not be reached on the phone when we visited the property for inspections and viewings.

Their absence was a problem because the owner became erratic and aggressive.

One time, he cursed us out and threw us out of his house while we were doing a termite inspection.

It was almost as if you felt that listing agents were not interested in the deal’s outcome.

What I found most unacceptable was that the agent did not prevent the client from disclosing a few issues with the property.

To me, this seems unprofessional. For example, in the disclosures, we were told by the homeowner that the roof on the house was five years old.

This was false. It was almost as if they had forgotten to add a two before that 5.

The roof was well past its end of life. Our home inspector confirmed this with a roofing contractor who also examined the property.

How can listing agents allow clients to lie about disclosures? Although they may not have a legal obligation, listing agents would be expected to ensure that their clients tell the truth.

However, they would likely have a professional obligation if there was a blatant lie.

Good Opportunity was not able to communicate effectively.

They did not disclose the issues with the house, and they were absent during much of the home-buying process.

This deal cost me a lot of money and wasted my time.

This is the lesson: If this company sells your house, be ready to do your research.

You can’t rely on them to show up, provide accurate information, or call you back quickly.
