Dr. Susan Lewis

Billing Is A Nightmare

She comes with great recommendations but unfortunately I would not go back to see Dr. Susan Lewis.

Billing is a nightmare (mostly as a function of the hospital system and the doctor’s inept billing company), I hardly spent any time with the doctor in any sort of evaluation, I was told that my knee MRI wasn’t even “fully read” — only half of it was available when the doctor looked at it, despite the fact that it was done downstairs in the same building and cost me over $2,000.

After all the bureaucratic hassle and time spent in and out of the hospital to see Dr. Lewis, six months later my knee is in exactly the same condition as it was before.

Sure, these things are hit or miss but my experience was definitely a miss.

  1. She cares about her patients and does the write thing for them.

Dr. Lewis recently did surgery on my broken leg. She (and her team) made an otherwise unpleasant experience as easy and quick as possible. I got other opinions from friends who are Doctors and they all agreed that her course of action was perfect. She cares about her patients and does the write thing for them.

Her executive assistant/scheduler makes things like booking appointments to getting in touch with Dr. Lewis very easy and efficient.

Dr. Lewis shares a floor with a physical therapy place. This makes it very convenient because Dr. Lewis often spoke with my physical therapy trainer and vice versa.

  2. When you go to a specialist, the goal is to find out what is wrong and to fix it.

I found Dr. Lewis over 10 years ago when I severed my left ACL. Since then I had one more ACL severed on my other side and most recently a rotator cuff injury due to an accident, I cannot say enough about Dr. Lewis she is “brilliant”, technically the best, and I trust her opinion as an “expert and a skilled surgeon”.

I read the other postings and yes billing is not fun. But to get to a Doctor of Susan Lewis’s level, She is worth it! When you go to a specialist, the goal is to find out what is wrong and to fix it.

  3. This office is completely lacking in ethics and decency.

Don’t go here, unless you like being scammed by health insurance companies/service providers. I spent less than 10 minutes with Dr. Lewis and was charged $130.

And of course the office staff assured me that my insurance company would cover everything except the copay when I scheduled the appointment. This office is completely lacking in ethics and decency.
