Dr. Samuel Gelbart

Might Lose Your Vision Forever

I’ve seen a number of doctors in my lifetime, but my experience in Dr. Samuel Gelbart’s was a new low. I wish there were negative stars.

I sat for over an hour in the waiting room for my “appointment”.

When I finally got called in, I reiterated that I was there for a medical issue with my eye, not an annual exam.

The entire appointment took about 3 hours, most of which I spent waiting, only to have the doctor have no diagnosis for me except a couple fleeting whimsical guesses so extraordinary that he didn’t even have the nerve to write them as notes in my chart.

Without any *real* diagnosis, he resorted to calling the emergency medical visit a routine exam for my nearsightedness (something I’ve had since 4th grade).

Which was passed to my insurance as such, and was thus not covered.

I received a nice $360 bill. Thanks Doctor.

I won’t even get into the fact that it took a month and a half of debating the bill with the office staff before I finally caved.

Bottom line: Even if your left eye just stops focusing (like mine did) and you are scared you might lose your vision forever, you’d have better luck getting seen by a TL pigeon and it’d be a lot cheaper too.

  1. I had a sty , " eye pimple" on the inside eyelid.

I had a sty , ” eye pimple” on the inside eyelid. I tried many ways by putting warm conpress for a month, but it didn’t work. I tried dermatalogist, they only give me antibiotics, it didn’t work. So my friend recommended me to see eye associates, and there I met Dr. S Gelbart.

He was very friendly and patient with me. I told him I have been miserable for 3 months already. I have not gone out in 3 months. Please, please help me. He gave me the first minor surgery, cut from the inside to let some pus out. After, 2 weeks, it got better, but not completely.

So, I went back to see him, he did another minor cut, and gave me some medication and oitment. He is very safe because he doesn’t want to give me any scars. So after the 2nd time, I see light end of the tunnel, but still there is a minor edge on the top of the eyelid.

Then, i went to see him again for the 3rd time, he gave me one more cut to finish the edge off. This time. I think I am completely heal. I still went to see him for the 4th time to have a final confrimation to see everything is ok.
