Dr. Peter Lin

Terrible Time Communicating

First of all, Dr. Peter Lin’s office is located in a dirty area in Chinatown.

It is located between a liquor store and a vegetable market.

I walked in to the area to the counter, as a new patient filled out a little paperwork, then went in to a TINY room with a bunch of elderly Chinese people.

I felt like I was getting sick just sitting there with all these people in a poorly ventilated old gross room.

Even though I was last to arrive, I was called next.

I walk down a skinny hall and sit in a room that doesn’t even have an examination table, no protective wax paper roll.

It looked like I was in a weird house, because there was no medical equipment in the place.

So Dr. Lin and I had a terrible time communicating because of the strong accent on his end.

I just repeat over and over that I need a referral, because honestly, he would have needed a skateboard to lay on and roll under me in this little room had he been willing to give me an annual exam.

Anyway, I ask him to look at my ears while I’m there and he doesn’t. End appointment.

I get the referral, have to pay $25 cash because the shady ass place won’t accept debit, so I run around Chinatown looking for an ATM.

Pay the co-pay, get the hell out of there.

If I was deathly ill I would not go back there, I’d rather pay to go clog up the emergency room, at least someone might speak my language and at least feign interest in why I’m there.
