Dr. Judy Ng MD

Stressful Treatment

If you plan to come to this clinic, please get a second opinion! Because I was fed up with my skin problems (e.g., acne, hyperpigmentation), I made an appointment to see Dr. Judy Ng.

Many weeks in advance, the best derms are booked. I was not satisfied with Dr. Ng’s services, so I made arrangements to secure with her.

She was also a fellow Asian, so I believed she could be trusted with my opinion on my skin type.

First of all, yes, she speaks very fast. After only looking at your face for 30-60 seconds, she also evaluates you.

In a matter-of-fact voice, she immediately suggested that I take Accutane.

My fiance was able to express his concern and convince me not to do this because he knew the painful consequences.

This includes long-term skin conditions and pregnancy issues. If you are considering Accutane, please read this article.

He also noted that dermatologists could often make the most money by prescribing costly treatments such as Accutane.

My skin is almost free from hyperpigmentation and has nearly disappeared after changing my diet and working with an esthetician.

Recently, friends commented on how my skin glows. I attribute that to lifestyle changes, diet, and non-comedogenic skincare products. This is nothing new, folks!

Union Square Dermatology has also referred me to this year. She checked out a cyst in my skin before it fully healed up.

She disagreed with Dr. Ng and stated that Accutane was only for those with more severe skin conditions (severe acne scarring), which she has never experienced.

Dr. Ng is the only thing I will credit for my eczema.

But, I have to question her ethics in prescribing something unnecessary to make more $$.

It is a shame that Dr. Ng is still in practice.

My fiance is more naive than me, so I wouldn’t have signed up for anything that would have been expensive and prolonged, a stressful treatment that might not have helped my skin and caused long-term damage.

  1. You charge my health insurance i pay but not provide appropriate service.

My appointment was 20 minutes earlier than I arrived at the office. Later, a lady came in and told the receptionist that she had a meeting 15 minutes after mine. Everyone in the room was called in, but I was omitted, so I asked why. The receptionist told me that the doctor managed the schedule, but not me.
Last time, I remember making the appointment at the counter to confirm everything with her. I asked her if she would be able to see the doctor. She said the doctor was seeing a new patient. The patient was 15 minutes after me.

It was finally my turn, 30 minutes after my appointment. Was there something wrong? After I refuted each of her ridiculous responses, I was eventually asked by the doctor why my delay. 1. The receptionist had made two appointments at once (which I later discovered wasn’t the case); 2. She thought it would take longer to talk with me, so she saw the first one and placed my file next.

Is this true? Why did I need to book an appointment in advance? I was waiting for my work, so why didn’t anyone tell me? 3. She said that she was busy at 4 p.m. and that I should visit her after lunch. Oh! Oh!

It is important to remember that I didn’t just walk into the office without an appointment but made it two weeks ago. You don’t have to be there if you can’t see me. I made a long journey from East Bay to pay my co-pay and monthly health care. What type of service did I get !!!!? I pay for my health insurance, but you don’t provide the appropriate service.

  2. Brilliant medical dermatologist.

Brilliant medical dermatologist. Honest, knowledgeable, effective.

  3. Extremely rude. Poor "bedside manners.

Extremely rude. Poor “bedside manners.” From the first phone call to schedule the appointment until the time I left the office following the visit, it felt like I was in a Third World clinic.
It can be challenging to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist on short notice. The staff and doctor were insulting. Dr. Ng should take classes in how to communicate with patients. But, I recommend that you keep searching and waiting for a different doctor.

  4. This doctor is dreadful.

This doctor is horrible. It is “common for people in their 6 s”. I took a long-standing issue to her office. She didn’t listen to me and cut me off to explain it.
(I’m a lot younger than that. When I asked her about another problem, she made the same comme t even though I pointed out that the situation had appeared in my 30s. I was insulted twice more and refused to listen.
