Terrible Experience With Customer Service

I recommend people do not open an account at Cit Group Cit Online Bank.I had a terrible experience with customer service.

What the bank does is disable your password on a regular basis for their own security reasons.

The result is, your account often gets locked up just when you need it most – when you’re trying to do something!

How frustrating is that? So then you have to call customer service where they grill you with security questions after a very long delay unless they say they’ll call you back and it takes so long, several hours, sometimes you’re not there..they always have a “very high call volume” even if its first thing in the morning.

The bank didn’t know me personally so when they asked me an extensive number of security questions, I had trouble answering because I have memory problems.

Instead of understanding and trying to get to know me as a new customer, the customer service lady actually locked my account while was on the phone with them and left it that way!

Whats worse, she was very angry, obstructive and very negatively unsupportive.

That was an extremely bad experience and left me feeling very frustrated.

Most of the time, my account would be locked because on the occasion I tried to check in, instead of focusing on my financial plans and considerations, I would get locked out and be too anxious to want to deal with it again.

I had read the older reviews of CIT Bank before I started an account, hoping that they have fixed their customer service problem. That was not the case.

On top of that, they do a really crappy job of updating their CD rates, usually only upgrading a couple of CD’s with current rates and leaving the others to languish instead of doing a complete and thorough job, which means that you as the customer have a lot less options when trying to figure out your investment scheme.

They did that more than once. They also neglected to upgrade the savings account rate but giving them suggestions has no effect.

Overall, I couldn’t wait to cancel my CD’s and get out of there.

  2. This Place is Scammer

    I have had an account for over two years without being able to get online access. Phoning is useless: it is perpetually in a state of “unusually heavy volume”. Last Saturday I called and waited for at least half an hour. Finally an agent answered.

    I told him I wanted to close this useless account with over $50k! He worked diligently for 51 minutes before he could get a manager to promise to mail me check. He gave me an email address to send a scan of my driver’s license, which I did.

    The robot said they had received it and would reply by email. Four days later after 3 requests I have not been answered.
