Avoid! Cheryl A. Lane, CPA acquired the practice of my long-time accountant, David Kobe.

Had only great experiences with David. Just awful experience of Cheryl Lane’s practice.

I moved addresses and they sent invoices to my old address, which I did not receive.

Instead of phoning me or emailing me, they referred my business and personal bills to a collection agency and screwed up my personal and company credit.

I emailed them to ask why and received a note that they only send invoices via USPS.

Great way to treat clients.

      There are many problems with the content of this post.
      Cheryl has been a CPA for 40 years with no complaints until she purchased the clients that David Kobe wanted to purge from his practice. At the time I purchased a portion of David Kobe’s book of business, his most experienced tax preparer left David and came to work for me. The sole contact for David’s clients at our firm, was the same guy they worked with at David Kobe’s office. Nothing changed except the new office was 1/2 block away.
      Tax payers are required to keep their addresses current with the IRS and FTB. Our invoices are sent to the same address as the address in the tax returns we file for our clients. We also send invoices via email upon request. We do not turn clients into collection until their invoices are unpaid for at least 6 months. This guy obviously did nothing to investigate why he had not received a bill for the prep of his tax returns.
      This person suffered no monetory losses. His tax returns were prepared and filed on time. He was billed exactly according to the contract he signed before we agreed to prepare his returns.
