We used Best Rate USA to refinance our home in Feb. Our Sales Rep was good. Maybe even above par.

He was friendly and helpful. But even he would promise things that he couldn’t deliver on.

Beyond that, Best Rate USA has been a nightmare to work with.

The lady doing the actual loan paperwork to send to underwriting would take 4 or 5 days to respond to the documents we would send her.

Often the only response would be “This document is unacceptable”. Completely without explanation or tact.

We would coax a dialog from her and send new documents. Four or 5 days later, she would respond.

Then guess what, our closing date came and went and we weren’t complete.

Now in order to keep our rate, they wanted to make us pay a fee.

Our sales rep understood that it was their fault and said that they would cover them.

.Except that they didn’t. His manager denied it.

The only reason we didn’t walk is because the interest rates had gone up enough that it still made financial sense.

Closing completed. We are 5 days away from needing to make our first payment.

But to whom? We never received anything in the mail like our Sales Rep said we would.

I have repeatedly called the company GMH Mortgage dba BESTRateUSA and left messages requesting a callback.

I have emailed their customer service and not received a call back.

Guess who benefits if we miss a payment? They do, of course. With stiff penalties for late payments.

If this review saves even one person the headaches that we’ve dealt with, then it will have been worth the time in writing it.
