Stole money and defamed us
Every year we train thousands of English-speaking and non-English-speaking people to teach English. The vast majority of our clients pay for their course, receive their certificate, and then enjoy a successful career in teaching English.
Ashley D. Jeffers, on the other hand, purchased one of our courses at a discount ($199) and skim-read the course – completing it in only a few days.
There was no possible way that she could have learned anything from the course by completing it so quickly.
Still, she was our customer, so we accepted her course completion, and billed her $47 for her course certificate.
Ashley responded by claiming that she knew nothing about the certification fee and claimed that it was a hidden charge – despite it being noted on our school website.
We decided to waive the certificate fee to keep our customers happy.
As soon as we issued Ashley her course certificate, she pushed for a Paypal chargeback.
At this stage, we just wanted to be rid of this customer, so we decided to return all of the money so that we wouldn’t need to hear from her again and she would no longer be one of our customers.
Was that the end of it? No.
She decided to post a comment on a website run by one of our business competitors, where she claims that she did not receive the refund and claims that our course certificates are fake.
We have contacted Ashley to ask her to delete her comment kindly, but she has not responded to our requests.
We have decided to write this complaint as a warning to any other TEFL program, or language school that she applies to for a job, that Ashley D. Jeffers is definitely not someone whom we would recommend for a teaching English job position.
She effectively stole money from us – we are certain that she is using our course certificate to apply for jobs because we have been asked to provide a character reference for her by an online teaching program – and we have lost money because of her as potential clients have read her comment and have been put off taking one of our courses.
