American Liberty Mortgage, Inc
LoanAs others on American Liberty Mortgage, Inc state, Kevin Green is super friendly. Yet, overall he was not a straight talker.
Frequently, he would respond in an instant. But, more consistently he and his crew ‘the Green Team’ seemed annoyed, distant, palpably cliche, and shallowly insincere.
And they did not seem to know the exact particulars of a VA loan.
Furthermore, despite me hedging at the beginning of the process with both he and my realtor over not being financially ready, in just getting a recent promotion, more sensibly wishing to wait for several months to have a stronger position
Also take advantage of typically winter market month lower prices, I was ‘pre approved.’
Needless to say, while being under contract in the first week I received a defensive and marginally hostile call saying, ‘I can’t get you approved.’
Not once, was there any expression of regret or self responsibility for the position he just put me in of being under contract, just paying ‘earnest money,’ scheduling an inspection, etc.
But, there was an offering of buying down a high interest rate. I was appalled and thought, ‘how can I be buying down a rate, if I do not have a loan?’
The evening before, he sent me the following email after I inquired about the status of my loan:
Hi Brian,
Your loan application was approved prior to you going under contract.
Otherwise, we would have never let you make an offer on a property.
Sending a lender letter to you and Teri prior to you making an offer covers you from that contractual deadline.
There are several ways for you to get out of this contract if need be, and we would never put your earnest money in jeopardy.
It’s our job to protect your earnest money and you. Good luck on the inspection, I hope it goes well. 🙂
Thank you
