Alaska Usa Federal Credit Union

This company is extremely shaddy

Wow. I make a payment and its gets jacked up in Alaska Usa Federal Credit Union’s system. They charge a $26 late fee and will not reverse it even though I made the payment.

They said the account number was inputted wrong, well I copied and pasted it right from my spreadsheet.

When I read it too “Debby” the manager, it was what they had in their system.

She then still would not reverse the charge because she said I must have made a mistake inputting it.

I then asked for her last name and she said “I do not give out my last name” and then hung up.

This company is extremely shaddy and I would not do business with them.

  1. Maybe it is time to check other banks for their rates.

It costs $15 to stop payment a chec via by phone or at the teller station. It seems expensive to charge your member. Maybe it is time to check other banks for their rates.

  2. From simple cash services to commercial loans they are total amateur hour.

The employees of Alaska USA are nice and that’s about where it ends. For a plain old bank account, they are ok. But anything more than that they are a headache to deal with and if you do ANY type of business banking, they suck. Your better off going to Wells Fargo or Northrim Bank. From simple cash services to commercial loans they are total amateur hour.

  3. This institution is horrible.

This institution is horrible. They allowed fraudulent checks through to the tune of $21,000.00 and won’t cover any of my money. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve banked with them or how loyal you’ve been.

They care nothing about their customers and know you can’t fight them in court because they have the money to continue a fight long after all of yours is gone. I would give them an F

  4. I agree wholeheartedly with many of the negative reviews already posted here.

This bank operates less like a member owned credit union and more like a big name bank. I’m going to pass on sharing the details of my husband’s and my experiences with this bank, but we would will never, ever have anything to do with Alaska USA again. I agree wholeheartedly with many of the negative reviews already posted here.

  7. I hope to take advantage of their fantastic CD rates.

I became a new client with a new Vancouver branch two months ago and had to make a deposit through a teller at a branch in Juneau. The teller was very courteous and helpful. I was very pleased with the experience. I hope to take advantage of their fantastic CD rates.

  8. Go with Denali USA- you'll be much happier.

Zero fraud protection on your account- I got scammed and they didn’t even flag my account or try and contact me. They are quick to take your money but very slow to refund it to you, and their customer service is terrible. Go with Denali USA- you’ll be much happier.

  9. Not a good start, hoping it gets better

i just got a car loan and am switching my direct deposits to AKUSA . i wish i had read all these reviews first because they are not very good. The dealership where i purchased my car told me i could make additional payments on the principle to help pay off faster.

But, found out that was NOT a true statement. Checked with AKUSA and its just a payment on interest and principle. That does not make me happy. I was also told that i would get whopping 1/2% if i transferred my banking. Waiting to see if i get it. Also, made my first payment and it still hasn’t cleared yet. Not a good start, hoping it gets better

  11. if this horrible company has tried to put any additional charges on your loans..

if this horrible company has tried to put any additional charges on your loans….they are thieves… Alaska USA Federal Credit Union is trying to tag on extra charges of $2000.00 on an in operable car (from Jan to May) because they said we needed insurance but you don’t in California .

And now want to charge us for the past when the car had no claim and now is running with insurance. Just crazy!!! Please email me if you’d like to fix any wrong they did to you. Companies need to be put in their place and be honest or pay the price of wronging the wrong customers!!!!

  12. Unfortunately AK USA already has the funds for my appraisal and has me trapped.

The appraisal has still not been reviewed and I was told that closing could take another 2 weeks. But by the way things have been going that probably means another month or more. This has caused a great deal of stress having needed this loan for emergency repairs and having to exhaust other means of credit while waiting for this dragged out process.

I don’t understand why this has taken 3 months when most other loans, even for my home purchase, take a month max. I wish I had more time to spare to start the process all over again with another bank whose average closing time for home equity lines is 4 weeks. Unfortunately AK USA already has the funds for my appraisal and has me trapped.

  13. This place is a joke.

To make matters worse, we’ve had loans with them before, paid on time (and paid off early), and we currently have a motorcycle loan with them that we are, of course, ahead on. Didn’t matter to them.

My advice? Bank with them if you want to work with a bunch of crooks. I haven’t been late on a payment in many years (and the only reason I was before was due to a bad car wreck and multiple surgeries to fix my shoulder) and neither has my husband, we both make good money and my husband earned his right to use the VA loan.

  14. Was given a loan through Alaska USA from my dealership.

Was given a loan through Alaska USA from my dealership. Terrible choice if you are not near a physical location. There online services are antiquated – can only make payments via check routing number, cannot setup online account without physically mailing them the form (not even a fax number),

once you have an online account you still can’t make payments from external banks, can’t save your bank routing numbers for future use, browsing their online tool it is evident that it is an old system. Difficult and annoying – I am getting refinanced to a bank that has decent online tools.
