This company is extremely shaddy

Wow. I make a payment and its gets jacked up in Alaska Usa Federal Credit Union’s system. They charge a $26 late fee and will not reverse it even though I made the payment.

They said the account number was inputted wrong, well I copied and pasted it right from my spreadsheet.

When I read it too “Debby” the manager, it was what they had in their system.

She then still would not reverse the charge because she said I must have made a mistake inputting it.

I then asked for her last name and she said “I do not give out my last name” and then hung up.

This company is extremely shaddy and I would not do business with them.

    I have been banking with Alaska USA FCU since the mid 1970’s, and I have to say this is a great credit union for personal accounts. I also use them for a small business, and I would admit this is not their forte, but for personal stuff, they cannot be beat.

    I would recommend them to anyone looking for a bank that values you as a person and the community they are in. I also love that I can bank here or in Washington among other places now. Talk about convenient!

    Im not sure why all the negative reviews. My bank is great. They gave us a great rate on our car loan @3.9% and that’s with ok credit. Would definitely go back and do more business with ours.

  4. Not Good Service

    I have a car loan with Alaska USA for almost two years. They gave me a good rate, better than the dealer. But I also have a $500 secure credit card for 3 years. When I apply for that card they told me that after six months i can change it to unsecure credit card.

    I applied after 9 months, 1 year 3months, 2 years and every time they refuse to approve me because sometimes during this two years I had two miss payments, but they said, try again after six months. Now I applied at Bank of America and they aprove me $2500 unsecure card, with out any proof of nothing, i just told them how much i am making and that was it.

    After a couple of weeks with the new BofA credit card a applied again (after 3 years) at Alaska USA to change that secure CC to unsecure, and they said that they need the pay stub to actualy see what i am making. I brought them the pay stub and they refuse me AGAIN. This time they said that “you had those miss payments and we can not verify your income”.

    If on the pay stub there is the phone nr. for the company with who i am in contract with, why dont you call them and verify? They told that to “try again after about 6 months” (I heard that like 4 times already) till my income will reflect on my IRS.

  6. For today I am not happy at all with Alaska USA.

    I have banked with Alaska USA for well over 15 years now. In that time I have had absolutely no problems with them. As far as I am concerned they are a wonderful bank. However today I may have to change my high regard for them, We left Alaska so I can attend school in the Lower 48, Since we plan on returning as soon as I am done with college we decided to keep Alaska USA.

    I deposited a refund check from the college using the remote deposit app. This is not the first check I have deposited from them and the others went through with no problems. They release part of the check on and then other portion was supposed to be released today.

    I made a couple of small purchases yesterday and today I tried to buy lunch and my debit card wouldn’t work, After talking to a customer service rep I find out that someone in Anchorage decided that the check would “not be paid”, why they made that decision I will never know, and decided to place another hold until.

    I also found out that they charged me overdraft fees for the purchases I made before they decided to take the partial release back. Those fees were five times the amount I spent.

    After being put on hold, the customer service agent returned and said that “for today only, a one time removal of the fees will be done.” The way it was said was absolutely rude and since there is still a purchase pending am I out of that overdraft fee since it will not be posted in their one day reprieve?

    I have never had any issues before with remote deposit and now I am wondering if I will need to change banks after all. My decision will all depend on how this situation turns out. For today I am not happy at all with Alaska USA.
