Academy Bank is The most frustrating bank. I had catched the error myself but notification of overdraft by text came 3 days after the fact, if you reset your password it’s an act of Congress with ridiculous long words,numbers and symbols.

Customer service is only helpful if you catch the right person.

I again did a photo check from my other bank to deposit at Academy-it wont credit for 7 days!

Last, the two guys working the local branch are so frigging slow , unknowable, confused I walk away frustrated everytime .

I have several auto pays and an auto deposit. Because of the hassle to change those I grit my teeth every time I have to deal online and person and keep my account.

Oh and I was told not to even try for a loan for HVAC replacement, I was told dont bother filling an app if your credit score is under 720.

So much for a fresh start bank. I strongly suggest you use the website and/or phone app frequently.

  1. Academy Bank Lies to Close a Mortgage and Won't Correct the Problem they Caused

    I hired an attorney to represent me with Academy Bank. The original issue included Academy Bank erroneously stating that they could fund a loan and stating it was “Clear To Close” and providing a “Closing Disclosure”, thus causing me to forfeit my $50,000 earnest money. Ask your realtor or mortgage bank how common it is to have a bank back out after they have told you the above – NONE! Due to the failure of the funding Academy Bank also caused me to lose the ability to use the appraisal (they would not transfer it to a new mortgage lender) which cost $1,450 and hire an attorney. Another issue is that I approved in writing a charge up to $765 and was charged $1,450 for the appraisel. Due to their incompetence, I also lost the contract to buy the property.

    Since the original contract referenced above expired, the property went back onto the market and the seller accepted an offer for $25,000 less the earlier accepted offer. Thus I got $25,000 back due to the hard work by my real estate agent.

    Academy Bank and I, through my attorney, traded information concluding 8.20.21 summarizing that all the documentation supports that due to Academy Bank’s incorrectly writing that the loan was “Clear To Close” and then providing “Closing Documents” (documents provided in original complaint) they have caused me to lose $29,152 that includes the earnest money, appraisal fees and legal fees. Even though they seem to agree to the math, have seen the documentation, apparently fired the loan officer I was working with, they will not pay these costs they caused. They continue to misdirect what the problem is, delay a conclusion, and focus on how confused they are and not the simple facts. It seems they don’t understand standard real estate procedures, deadlines, and feel there is no such thing as a real commitment.

    My strong is opinion is DO NOT USE THIS INCOMPETENT, MISLEADING, UNPROFESSIONAL MORTGAGE COMPANY – you will regret it!

    Academy bank down town Colorado springs has a new branch manager What a joke this guy is the biggest price of ????You will ever come across and the female cashier that sucks his????(????) is a twitt and a half These two have no coustomer skills at all they will run this bank in the ground stay away use another bank these two act and appear to be on drugs and the ????they preach god to you but then swear at you threaten you assault you they need to find mental treatment ????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    Customer beware: Do NOT bank with them. They will allow fraud on your account and not lift a finger to correct the problem I have had so many problems with them, from them taking overdraft fees out of my account when I opted out of overdrafting,

    they continued to give me wrong and false information when I would call the customer service line, then when I went into the bank I would get a different story. DO NOT trust them with your money !!! I have filed a complaint with the Federal Reserve….. 🙁

    BEWARE…This Bank will DENY you access to YOUR MONEY. On 3 separate occasions I have not been able to or denied access “while their system updates or for some other BS reason.

    I was told when I opened my checking that if I set up Direct deposit there’s NO FEE…after the fact, there is a fee and they WILL Overdraft your Account to get it.

    THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED…just give them a call, you’ll see what I mean…LIARS and THEIVES…DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY HERE, THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO STEAL IT!

    Not even going to get into what’s wrong with this awful company. Hands down the roar company I’ve dealt with my entire life. Don’t ever bank with them. They will frustrate and screw you.
